Speeding Ticket

I got pulled over last night on the 210 FWY going 81 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. How much do you guys think the ticket will be? Also, the cop was a CHP and he said he clocked me but he didn't show me the radar gun. Is there a chance that I could fight this ticket and actually win?

depends on how much time/money you want to invest.

for me, i'd rather pay to beat it so i give the lawyers $300 and they guarantee to get you off. we have several such firms and it's totally no hassle. write the check and you're off.

if you'd rather invest time, you need to challenge the ticket, make motions of discovery for the calibration data on the gun, show up to court, etc. but there's a good chance you can beat it this way too. not worth it in my opinion since it's not 100% certain and you have to spend a lot of time, plus a day at court.

How many tickets are currently on your record? Are you in danger of losing your license? If not, man-up, pay the fine, and next time be more aware and alert.

even with the $300 you save money by not letting your insurance go up.

I dont think the CHP has to show you the radar gun... As far as ufighting the ticket and actually winning... I doubt that here in cali. I got a ticket for about the same speed, i'll check how much it cost me.

Nah I didnt attempt to fight it, not worth the hassle to me knowing the chances of winning are slim. CHP pulled me over going about 80 also.. I was on my way to pick up my side skirts

^ Cops are getting payed for O/T right now so I'm pretty sure he'd show... but you are correct if the officer doesnt show it will be dismissed. Your planning on fighting it?

You can show up to court and hope he doesnt show... but if he does just be prepared because there really isnt a chance of winning after that.

I would confirm how much a lawyer will actually cost you 1st, I know another forum member said he payed 300 but not all of them are the same.
