Spare tire kit installation for RX8

I purchased a spare tire kit over the internet for my RX8 but there are no installation instructions. Does anyone have any information on how to obtain installation instructions or a service bulletin for the spare tire kit? Has anyone tried to install a spare tire kit before?

I installed mine last weekend. Took about an hour and was a very straight-forward installation. I had a complete kit with instructions but found them only marginally helpful. The diagrams where somewhat misleading and the text (like many Japanese translations) could have been written better. Unfortunately, I tossed the instructions when I was done.

I considered taking some pictures of the install for a DIY post, but I’ve been just too damned busy.

If you really get stuck, P/M me and I’ll try and help you out. If you have all the parts laid out I’d be happy to talk you through the installation. I don’t trust myself to type out the procedure from memory and once you hear what needs to be done I think you’ll be able to get it pretty easily. If I get a chance this week maybe I’ll take my spare out and take pictures of the key areas of the installation.

Thanks for the link with the instructions...just what I needed.

I also would very much appreciate a picture of the installation without the tire in place. I was glad to hear that this is a straight forward installation.

Thanks....

I've seen the trunk with the spare tire.... it takes up alot of space. For those of you thta have this, do you find your trunk to be kinda useless? I gott abe able to fit a stroller in the back

They take up a heck of a lot of room.......and a puncture doesn't happen too often if the pressures are kept up. Do all NA RX-8's have TPMS?

Gomez.

I can fit a umbrella stroller in mine and I have the spare. I do not find the trunk too small, but would not take the 8 for more than a weekend Vac.
