Someone ding'd my car!!!

I am livid!

My husband drove the 8 to work Monday and Tuesday, because I needed the SUV. Well, Friday he asks me "what's that on your car?"

On the front bumper, very low, there is a gash. The paint is scratched off in a line about the size of a finger.

I suspect this may have happened Monday or Tuesday and my spouse decided that if he didn't mention it until Friday I would think that it happened while I had the car. He, of coarse, is denying.

I drove my Celica for 2 years and never got a scratch on it. I had the 8 for less than 2 weeks when this happened.

I'm depressed.

Sounds like it could possibly be a partking issue.. something that low.. maybe one of those concrete 'lumps' they have in some parking lots.. or even, maybe simply a kerb? Or.. isn't it 'that' low?

Well, if it helps.. my wife got rear-ended in her Celica GTS after only 3 hours.. and again, about three weeks later just after getting it back all fixed up and new like. This time she got a brand new car as they simply couldn't fix the frame damage to everyone's satisfaction... so it happens.. Since then, thankfully.. nothing.. and nothing with her AT '8' except she got it stolen and wrecked shortly after buying it.... but now we have yet another new one to replace that one so fingers crossed!

My father in law has a saying about my wife... she has rarely even been in an accident.. but has seen hundreds in her rear view mirror!

I'm saying nothing!!!

Cheers..

Mag

So it's your wife that's keeping all of our insurance rates so high!

If I had the same problem here, my wife would be driving a beater.

I managed to get rear ended within 6 hours of getting the car. Thankfully in my case, I got lucky and there no damage whatsoever.

Hope it works out ok. Cheer up. At least the car still drives :D

Call your dealer - talk to the used car manager or General Sales Manager. Ask for the number of the guy who does their touch-up paint work - the guy... not the company.

Dealers have a bunch of these "magicians" - you could smack your door with a baseball bat and a DentWizard could make it invisible in an hour... really! No exageration. They are unbelievable. There's a guy who's got your Mazda dealer on his route. He stops by every week and touches up cars on the used lot... and new. There's a paint guy, a dent/ding guy, an interior guy...

Again, get the individual's name and number (they live by their cell phones) and he'll likely do it on the side - much (MUCH) cheaper.
