Some one traded in a RX-8 at my dealership.

We had an 04 auto gt rx8 in black traded in at my dealership yesterday for a hyundai accent 3door. I normally would not say anything but I was told by my coworkers that he pretty much said the RX-8 was nothing but a problematic heap and now all my co-workers have a comment about my car. I did scavenge a set of rotary accents from the front and rear so I not to pissed.

That's exactly what I thought when I read what he switched to.

I can barely understand his post.

What's the point of what he was saying?

What about rotary accents?

Maybe I'm just slow...

Hmm. Simple translation: man trades in RX-8 for Hyundai Accent because the RX-8 is a heap of problems. Subsequent flaming of the man who traded in RX-8 for Accent has ensued. Mild hilarity, some confusion. Peace has been restored.

I think you missed it in translation:

"Man (A) trades in RX-8 for Hyundai Accent because the RX-8 is a heap of problems.

Man (B), an employee of the dealership (owner, maybe), gets flamed by his co-workers about his RX-8 because of A's scurrilous remarks about the 8.

B snitches the chrome rotary accents off the trade-in (from A) to put on his own 8.

B feels better.

Chrome rotary accents have nothing to do with Hyundai Accents."

Did I get it right??

BTW--who the hell cares if they get flamed by their co-workers.

If by heap of trouble he would be refurring to a factory warranty that doesn't last 100K miles, i guess he got one quality car.

Maybe he was plagued with issue after issue...or maybe he just didn't find himself to be an enthusiest of the car, or care to do required maintence like oil checking and correct flood prevention.

at any rate, if he's happy going from an 8 to an accent, looks the the 8 REALLY wasn't the car for him anyway.

I am sure that the Hyundai salesperson gave him a wonderful trade-in after he came in bitching about how bad the 8 was. Great negotiating technique.

Dealer will have to wholesale the 8 anyway considering who in the world is going to go to a Hyundai dealer looking for an 8?

Given that it is an 04 automatic he may have had more problems than most which led him to be unhappy. Probably couldn't stand the gas mileage anymore. My 05 six speed has been problem-free at 10,000 miles.

You'd be surprised how many impulse buyers go to a dealer with the intention of buying one type of car, and drive off the lot 2 hours later with a completely different one.

The 8's got charm that the unsuspecting might very possibly fall for. Sometimes those oddballs on a lot go quicker then you think, because of the very fact that it's one-of-a-kind on that lot, and when it's gone, so is the wholesale price
