I did 6 dyno runs in 1 day at a charity event, playing around with fuses and stuff, and none of it made a difference (ABS vs non-ABS, traction control on vs off). All runs were within a couple hp of each other.

165whp means your compression is softening or your ignition is failing. Possibly something else, but those are the two common ones. Failing ignition alone can mean around a 28whp drop, as was proven last year, even if you aren't actively showing misfires.

Able,

Unless you had another RX-8 or two dynoing with you that day your results are meaningless. For all you know you made 200WHP depending on if the dyno was setup and operated correctly or not.

True in his case.

There were 4-6 (been a few years) other RX-8s with mine, nearly all of us dyno'ed the same value. The one with a cat installed was the only exception, and it was ~15whp higher.

Yeah the last we all dynoed as a group it was comical, the results were all over the place and it made no sense at all. When I saw a basically new stock R3 make 140WHP I knew something was up and then it was confirmed when a modded CTS-V got on the rollers and made 300WHP.

Hmmm, I'm fairly sure my engine isn't failing. No compression numbers to back it up. But, the car is smooth and strong throughout the whole rpm range. No hot or cold hard starts. From what my dyno sheet looked like when I went, my gas mileage is spot on and also, from what my "tuner" says, My logs also look healthy (not sure if anyone can make that's assessment by looking @ logs) but it gave me a small piece of mind. I am aware that alot of dyno operators incorrectly dyno our cars, so I'm thinking that operator error my be the cause of the seemingly low number. I'm fairly interested in my compression numbers though, I might have to go get em checked out. Should I be worried about my intake or exhaust when getting it checked?

Only if you want warranty coverage if you fail.
