So I just got back from the 2007 BOTD

And I MUST have an RX-8!!!

For a while there I kept telling myself, "You should wait. Get somthing cheaper for now even know you can afford the 8, you dont need to spend that much dough on a car." then I got the bright idea of, "Hey! I'll just get an FD! It's practicly the same car, it's cheaper, AND it comes with turbos." I just didnt take into account that almost every FD out there that is actualy cheaper is on the verge of needing a re-build or has various other problems. The only way I would consider the FD option now is if I had the cash to buy a roller, and then stick a brand new motor in it, but unfortunately I dont.

I've loved the RX8 ever since it came out and have always wanted one, but going to the BOTD and hanging out with all of the awesome people there, and especialy getting to ride the dragon in some of the cars just made me realise how much I really love the car, the ride, and the brotherhood that comes with it all :-).

Now let's just hope I can find somthing local enough that I can drive out and test it, and still get a reasonable price ;-).

Once you get it, you'll be hooked! This car is more of an addiction than a toy!

The 8 is truly a car you can appreciate. Sometimes, as an owner, you forget that when you get busy with life, but everytime I have had to drive something else (rentals, borrowed cars, etc.), when I get bakc to my 8 it always amazes me all over again.

It feels really good to just drive.

Some of my friends can't realize that. A few weeks ago I went to a friends house, unexpectedly, and said hey hop I want to show you something. I just rolled down the windows and went cruising. He didin't understand. He thought it was a waste of time, and gas, but he doesn't realize the relaxation it brings.

And then sometmes it's good to just get out and DRIVE!!!!!

Everyone understands that need. lol

Glad we converted you and glad you had a good time up there.. I was sad to leave. It is strange not seeing 8's everywhere you look.

The Dragon has a way of doing that to people in the right car. Driving the 8 around town is fun but once you get it in the element she was made for.....WOW! I remember my first drive down Rt. 129, stunning! Best of luck finding a car. Don't go too quickly, which will be hard to do. Look at several different 8's if you can.

This is one of the things I love the most about the rx8.

The community is like none other. I dont even have an 8 and I already feel like part of the club

I agree with the addiction comment, although I'd say it's more of an obsession. My thought is this: if you're going to buy a car, get what you love. Sure, you could buy a Kia, but you're still making a car payment and you're pissed because it's a Kia! At least get something that'll make you happy to write the monthly check, right? ;-)

Hey man, thanks for lookin that stuff up for me. I have been browsing autotrader a little myself, the only thing is that I think I am gonna go for a 2005 simply because I dont want to encounter any complications with the 04 engine recalls.

I am actualy gonna go check out a local 8 tomorrow maby. Im not rushing anything, I definetly want to find one in good shape for a good price, but I will have one :-).

I have always been a lover of the infiniti 35 because of its high hp and sexy design and the rx8 was my second choice for a car. Unfortunately i did not have the money for a g35 so i bought an rx8 but WOW. I was freaking amazed with this car. When you redline the car, the sound of the engine is just amazing. Its totally different from any other car that i have ever driven. The car is amazingly light too! A few days ago, i drove a friends g35 and the engine doesnt have the unique sound that the rx8 engine makes and lets just say that choosing the rx8 saved me a lot of regrets.

How about that? I got rid of my G35 Coupe 6MT and got this car.... wanted a car that was rarer and one that doesn't feel heavy. Besides, the G35's interior isn't all that great...

yeah the g35 feels really heavy and the interior is not as "racy" looking as the rx8

A buddy of mine has a 350z that he got over an rx8. He constantly talks about how much he regrets it.

You can make all the comparissons you want on paper, but what really matters is how it feels when you are behind the wheel, and as far as that goes there is NO comparisson.
