So i discovered this on my baby today ..

So i was at the carwash and discovered some rust under the car and almost had a heart attack! i was really surprised since i take my car to the carwash 2 times a week as a minimum! Im taking the car to a shop tomorrow to see what can they do and the estimate. Any suggestions from you guys? what would you guys do on my situation?
Thanks Again

If it were my 8, I'd take it to my favorite body shop and ask for their advice, which might even be "it's not that serious, you don't have to anything right now". Let us know what your shop tells you.

sounds like the OP is going to a shop already so hopefully he can share that conversation with us and we'll attempt to help.

I'm hoping people with more wet climate experience chime in here as being born and raised on SoCal means I wouldn't know what to do other then go to my shop and say, "now what?"

It is going to take much more than just sanding and touch up to fix even surface rust properly. If he does touch up the rusted metal, he would have to use a rust inhibitor paint like POR-15, but unfortunately the area is exposed to eye-sight so that wouldn't be a good place for DIY rust repair.

Your washing your car way to ****** much! Knock it off lol. All you need to do is put on a good coat of wax and wash your car no more than once a week!!! Go buy this:

http://www.corroseal.com/

treat it, seal it, and stop washing so much.

he lives in Canada so I think its not washing thats causing the problem, its the salt on the road.

the amount of washing has NOTHING to do with this problem. Besides, he lives in Canada which means snow which means salt which means he needs to wash that stuff off.
