So The 2009 GT

Has automatic wipers too. Didn't know that. Is that a 2009+ feature?

I think so. Do you like them? I've heard most people don't bother with auto mode.

Just wondering about a feature of the car I didn't know about.

And yes I use them and like them.

Didn't know about that feature. Only the S2's got them, not the S1's.

Yes, my 09 has both. I don't use the auto headlights, because I usually want them on at times when they wouldn't go on automatically (like in the rain, dawn, dusk, fog). I love automatic wipers, though. I hate having to constantly fiddle with the speed of wipers when the rain can't make up its mind.

I've heard a lot of people complain about automatic wipers, but I think they are amazing. No matter what car I've owned, variable intermittent wipers always require you to move the switch every so often. With auto wipers, you just turn them on and do not have to worry about them again.

I leave my 2009 on automatic wipers all the time.

There's a sensor on the rear view mirror that detects the amount of rain on the windshield (and I think it also uses vehicle speed to determine).

If you leave them on at all times, be prepared for the wipers to move if something comes in front of that sensor. For example, let's say you have the wipers on auto and the car is parked and the engine is warming up. If you were to clean your windshield with a cloth, and the cloth comes in front of that sensor, the wipers will swipe and you can get hit by them, so be careful.

What do you mean by automatic wipers? When it detects water it starts automatically. But If I am true then is there any way we can switch off this automation.
