Question Sketchy Borla Purchase

Ok so heres the rundown of my purchase.

I was going to go to the rx7store.com to purchase my borla cat-back because it has the lowest price. Well rx7store doesnt accept american express so i cursed and screamed and flailed my arms about till i got over it. Then i did a google search and found borladirect.com that claims to be an independent dealer of borla parts. They had the setup and it was about $30 cheaper than rx7store so I went ahead and went through with the transaction. Upon after checking out I found out the website really doesnt have a FAQ or any means of contact besides e-mail. I am starting to regret my early morning / groggy purchase...

Has anybody ever heard of/ used this website and had any experiences?

Please help!

(sorry if this is the wrong section for this thread)

you paid by credit card, which means they obviously accept credit cards? If you look at your credit card statement online right now, if it states a payment has been made to borladirect.com then you're fine. If you paid by money order or check it would be a completely diferent situation.

It would be a ton of work for borladirect.com to create a site and fill out buisnessowners credit card acceptance applications just to steal your $600.

If you don't receive the order within a week and a half, then start to get worried but certainly don't be worried about it right now. Ask them if they can email you the tracking number when they mail it out, so you can see where the package is and ensure it is on it's way.

If so, then what are you talking about? The phone number is listed on the top of the page.

If you used a credit card your pretty protected especially Amex. When did you order? Did you send them an email? Did they NOT respond?

I agree with Husky, tracking info is usually a good indicator if they shipped.

LOL, do you know they offer "free shipping"................but the handling is $78 ????? Wow, that is really shady!!!!!

Check out the upper right hand corner of the page for the "free shipping" statement. And then check underneath the product price for the "handling" charge. Maybe he has a reason to be suspicious. Playing people like that is almost fraudulent.

Also, thank god they offer that huge $5.00 discount!

I dont think the site is fraudulent (it's too elaborate) but clearly they are monkeying around with the numbers. Here's a site with free shipping but around the same total price.http://www.exhaustsnow.com/borla/140078.htm

I actually think they are legit in their sales and probably competitive in their pricing, but they must think they have retards for customers to state that shipping is free but charge $80 for handling. If I was looking for a borla exhaust and saw that deception, I would never purchase anything from them.

Thanks guys

I ordered it this morning, pretty damn early. I figured the shipping cost was going to be high no matter what considering that it ended up being the same total price as most the other places i checked. Thanks for all their registration info. On the invoice i got, there was a space for phone number, fax, and e-mail and all of the spaces were blank except for e-mail so i started to worry. The website told me to e-mail them after 3 days for the tracking number. Maybe i was just worrying too much this morning.

but now...

IM EXCITED ABOUT MY BORLA!

sorry for offtopic

amex is the best, i bought a tv on line like 5 months ago with out the protection plan. it was a plasma. the picture was really distorted and fuzzy after like a month. the company said there was nothing they could do, called panasonic they said it was past the 30 day warrnty.

i called amex, they said they would investigate, they sent me a letter told me that my serial number was in a group of tvs that were all messed up. i called panasonic again with that info, they denied it, said i should have got the extended warrnty.

well amex called like a week later to check what happen, told them what panasonic said.
amex told me they would take care of it(i asked my self what are they going to do)
that day they refunded the money to my account, and sent fedex to my house to pic up the tv. amex just sent the tv to panasonic, im not sure if amex got the money from panasonic, but amex gave me the money back regardless.

they are great, i love it
