Single outlet exhaust Vs. Dual
Single outlet exhaust Vs. Dual
Well im trying to decide on a new exhaust system,
As of right now (Unless someone can convince me otherwise) my 2 options are:
Single outlet HKS
or
Agency Power dual..
The HKS IMO sounds better, but is the sound worth the lack of looks?
I know the weight is also a factor, considering the HKS is incredibly light.
Whats your opinion?
Which would you choose and why?
Is sound + less weight worth the crappy looks on the outside?

that is true, i say you stick with the hks and straight pipe it, then you loose a good amount of weight, cus the stock exhaust is heavy and so is the stock cat compared to a straight pipe
Go with the HKS Hi Power, more power gain, more flowing, lighter, and the list goes on.
From the back, you can clearly see a hole where the 2nd outlet should be lol.
Sound, weight and price were all part of my decision when getting the HKS. The single outlet doesn't look all that bad and doesn't bother me at all. I think it's stupid to have 2 tips when you only have 1 pipe to start with. The empty hole on the right just gives me a place to mount my goPro.
Well, last weekend I switched to the HKS Single sided. I had the stock exhaust with Magnaflow tips welded on and the SR Motorsports catless midpipe and the combo sounded great and looked great. I couldn't pass up the deal and losing RX-8 weight was a concern for me.
Let me just say that the HKS with a non resonated, catless midpipe is too loud for daily use but my car sounds like an F1 car at WOT. I will be getting the BHR midpipe soon and we will see how much that quiets it down. If it's not enough then I will add another high flow resonator.
Weirdly enough, my car idles smoother and just generally seems to rev better (but louder
) but there is a power difference on my butt dyno.
Looks are subjective, I love the look of the Ti tip but I don't think the whole setup looks as good as my stock did with the Magnaflow tips.

Ideally for looks and sounds I would say Borla. But pure performance I would say HKS or RB single race exhaust. We have a local member with the Borla and it just sounds right.
Are you a ghost? get with us man, I'd like to check out your 8. You should try and come to the mama margies meet this Sunday evening. I know it's not the best meet but we just stand around and shoot the **** and try and ignore the swanga's
The HKS sounds nice but for daily driving I think I would get annoyed just cause its sooo loud. And your getting a straight pipe its gonna be ridiculously loud. I know some people like that, but when taking a girl out its just not classy at all. Either way, you can't go wrong....unless you later regret your decision....then your wrong
