Silly Mazda Customer Service

So, I sent Mazda USA customer service and email about the spring rates on the MS Springs just to see what they would say. Here is how the email thread went

Me:I am unable to find out what the spring rates are anywhere on your site. Is it possible to get those rates?

Them:"Thanks for contacting Mazda.

Genuine Mazda Parts and Accessories can be purchased from your local authorized Mazda dealership. Keep in mind, pricing will vary from dealer to dealer, as each Mazda dealership is an independently owned and operated business. As for more information on parts, I’m afraid that what ever information is on the website is what’s meant for the public to know.

To locate your closest Mazda dealership, please visit our website at www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/loadDealerSearch.action.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda. "

ME:This had nothing to do with my question.....
What are the spring rate for the Mazdaspeed springs for an RX-8.
Thanks you.

Them:As for more information on parts, I’m afraid that what ever information is on the website is what’s meant for the public to know.

ME:So you sell performance parts with little to no useful information for the consumer? wow.....
I find that very hard believe. Someone must have that information as why would you sell such things without performance testing and evaluations that would help consumers choose your performance parts over after market competitors.

Them:As silly as that sounds, that's correct.

I mean...wow

lmfao.

That's just silly.
I think I've seen MS spring rates on the forum. Think they were in the "Look lowering springs" or
"springs springs springs" threads. But i might be wrong

Razz1 12-09-2009 09:54 PM

Ha Ha... you talked to an 18 year NOOB for Customer Service.

Spring rates of OEM and aftermarket springs can be found in "springs springs springs" thread. No need to waste time calling Mazda

Ross_Dawg 12-10-2009 12:56 AM

But honestly, Mazda should be able to forward the call/email to a MS person...

Easy_E1 12-10-2009 01:00 AM

rear 275 and front 400

Gr8Bullet 12-10-2009 02:31 AM

Haha that's funny.

volcomx31 12-10-2009 02:45 AM

. . .

Bigbacon 12-10-2009 06:11 AM

I KNOW they can be found here, but there is always debate on the rates. I wanted to know if Mazda themselves would give out the numbers....

I am not wasting time calling... Email takes a second.

I'm not sure, but doesn't Mazdaspeed themselves have a support team?

http://www.mazdaspeeddevelopment.com/contactus.htm

It's through MNAO, but I'm betting it's a separate department.

I think someone said this above but, why couldn't they direct me in the right direction even...I'll forward my email to some email on that motorsports page.

JinDesu 12-10-2009 09:47 AM

I'm betting most people in MNAO doesn't know of the MS Motorsports division. To them, they only deal with retail parts of it (selling, warranty, repairs).

Razz1 12-10-2009 12:13 PM

I bet they don't even know the RX has two a rotors.

RIWWP 12-10-2009 12:15 PM

Mine has 6....

:uhh:

;)

Shijin-Kun 12-10-2009 12:36 PM

thats a funny email thread, they should have at least sent it to someone who could know. Oh and according to a dealer i went to when shopping for an rx8, the rx8 has 2 cylinders.

Working for a large organization - it can be hard to find the right person to get info from.

customer service reps just needs to learn to say "i don't know but i'll direct you to someone who might know."
