How Many Shinka's Made Each Year? Color Breakdown?
Hello All,
Proud new Copper Red Shinka owner here. Just wanted to confirm some facts.
First Shinka Run: 2005?
# of Shinka's Produced in 2005?
# of Shinka's Produced in 2006?
# of Copper Red Produced?
Just trying to get a gauge on what I own here. The dealer tells you one thing of course but I want the truth!!!

BTW, Congrats, i LOVE the Copper Red...i have a Black Shinka...dope car!
Also, did they try and give you only 6 months sirius subscription when you called to activate? Seems to be a trend with the 2006 Shinka's. I had to argue to get the full year.

Congrats on your Black Shinka. Dope car is right. All RX-8's are dope and I like the added touches of uniqueness of the Shinka. 1000 this year huh? Would love to confirm that since I believe the extended the Shinka this year to White also on top of the Copper Red so 500 of each would be low but even more valuable if so? Weird my dealer had 2 Red and 1 white. That's alot for one dealer to have I imagine.

Can you elaborate on the search? Couldnt find any more info on this site about this when I did...

The Mazdausa Rep i talked to said he saw a lot of them in the system, and that he felt most of them had probably already been made for the year...that was a month ago.
Again, not gospel, just one man's opinion...but based on inventory i see online, it looks like they ship out most of the shinka's with the inital supply of rx8's to sit in the showrooms, then sell the normal RX8's for the most part.
The dealer i bought from had 4 shinka's and said they were getting a pair of copper red's in a few weeks, and that was their allowment of them for the year.

If I remember correctly, that 2150 figure for the '05 Shinka's is fictitious. I think that was how many they originally planned to make, but ultimately made only like 1300 or something. Can't remember the details, but I read about it somewhere on here, so a search should find it.

Total of 1,357 Black Cherry Shinkas were actually made: 513 automatic and 844 manual. Mine was #1339, built 3/31/05, the last day of production, and just the 18th from the end of the run!
