Sideview Mirrors

Supposedly the sideview mirrors fold in on the RX8 - I have tried but they do not move and I afraid if I push to hard they will break. Is there something I have to do before - like maybe remove a screw - before I can fold them?

I've also heard they fold in, but I've never tried it...

Yes, they can definitely fold in. (Well, at least on USA cars they can. I can't imagine it's different in Canada.)

Just use a bit more force—you won't hurt anything.

They fold both in and swing out.

you must apply more force to push them in because the unit has to lift up off it's groove. don't be afraid.

If you cup the mirror with both of your hands and then lift up from the bottom of the mirror and push towards the door, it might be easier. I think the lifting up from the bottom of the mirror helps the mirror fold in better than just going head on and pushing it.

Did you buy the car used? Maybe you have aftermarket mirrors that don't fold. Post pics.

Never tried to fold mine either. That's why this forum is so cool. Things that you may never wonder about are constantly being discussed.
