Short Trips

Hey guys, I'm sorry if there's a thread about this already. I remember people in the forum said to avoid short trips, is that true? if so what do you guys consider as a short trip? thanks in advance.

I think driving style has more to do with it, make sure the engine gets warmed up and rev the **** out of it.

I move my RX8 around the driveway when I wash it. I let it warm up for a few minutes and do frequent restarts. Never had a problem with flooding. Then again, I'm waiting for that day to come so I can gain some experience on unflooding an RX8

I've been doing "short trips" ever since I picked up my 8 about a year ago.

A short trip for me is about 3 miles (all local streets). I usually keep revs below 3k until engine is warmed up and do as I please from that point.

Have had no problems.

You'll be fine as long as car temperature is halfway between cold and hot.

since the tsbs on battery and starter upgrade and the recall reflash in 06. even 04s no longer have trouble with cold weather short trips or flooding. Very hard on gas mileage though.
