Short Trip concern

is our 8 ideal for around 4 hr. trip with all seats occupied?
already rwd, full tank of gas plus 2 passengers at rear seat...
not sure if this is something i should be concerned about.

the reason i'm asking is due to weak rear shock or spring as people mentioned, by the way, the car is completely stock, the rear sags alittle more then front.
i mean it's a sports car after all, not one of those soccer mom's van.
may be i'm just getting paranoid with all the negative stuff going on on this site.

Without any shock or spring issues, with OEM suspension there is more wheel gap in the front than the rear. If you aren't having the rear shocks tap or slam the rear bump stops, then the shocks are fine.

Your rear passengers may or may not enjoy a 4 hour drive, but that isn't your shocks fault.

And don't be paranoid. You only see the negatives because no one creates a thread every day saying "Everything is fine!" The forums will naturally be biased toward problems, but it isn't a good sample size of how many problems are actually out there.

remember, no one ever signs up to websites or mails in letters praising something.
It's a lot easier to complain then compliment.

When my suspension was stock (5 years ago ) I had 3 full sized adults in my car and had no problems.

The suspension isn't 'weak', people just have issues with the struts because they put lowering springs on OEM struts and wonder why the struts fail prematurely.

I've made 3 trips to Iowa 11 hours each way 2 people with the back seat and trunk FULL of stuff, no problems at all. Just bogged the car a little from a stop.

I don't see why not? 3 of my friends and I went to Windsor and back in his rx8 over the summer, that's a 9 hour drive each way. No problems. Just a few sore legs and backs.

If the car is maintained properly, then you should be fine. Like what was already said...it's a car, drive it till you drop...lol
