short shifter & 6000k vs. 8000k HIDs
Hi, I'm thinking of getting the short shifter and changing my HIDs to either 6000k or 8000k.
However, before I buy them, I was wondering if there is anybody close to Thousand Oaks, California (I'm in Newbury Park actually), who has the short shifter and/or 6000k/8000k HIDs installed that I can take a look at first?
Thanks!

ghanaboy: Richard Paul, the creator of the Axial Flow short shifter is in SimiValley. Call him and see if he'll let you come down to the shop and see it for yourself.
don't upgrade to 8000. If you have the stock HID's, those are some of the best bulbs you're going to have. 8000 = LESS light.

short shifter is a YES YES
your stock HID bulb is phlips (pretty sure) and they worth alot more than any of those aftermarket ones. but if you want it, i say 6k is good. 8k is little blue ish, not very blue so is still has a good amount of visibility.

Even though the throw is only like 20% shorter or something, it is more precise, allows faster shifting, and it really does feel like a rifle bolt kind of action. Best way I can describe it is very solid and precise.
I know that I couldn't go back to the OEM shifter.....and won't. Find somebody with one that will let you try their car.

I wasn't convinced on this whole "short shifter" thing either until I drove a member's car.
I went back to OEM shifter when I had my transmission replaced and I was going CRAZY; the shifts felt 'sloppy' after having the SS for 18 months.

By far the BEST mod for the car. (that and the voodoo shift ball)
I think one of the best mods for an 8 is the Axial Flow Short Shifter. I've had my AFE SS for about 8 months now, and it still feels great clicking into every gear. It actually spoils you....I was in my friends 350Z the other day, and the shifter felt like crap....didn't click, flopped around, felt cheap. Trust me, get the short shifter. You won't regret it.
9/10 people will NEVER notice a flywheel.
Most people don't need swaybars unless they're tracking or doing lots of VERY agressive driving.
Put it this way: Short shifter is a mod that keeps giving REGARDLESS of how or where you're driving.
Swaybars won't do squat if you don't drive agressively or drive lots of highway
flywheels is not very noticable; most people do not need this
RB flash: well... as we saw with Keith's dyno run, it doesn't actually do much. (for most)
