shocked: golf clubs fit in the trunk!

I'll admit, when I first picked up my 8... the trunk looked tiny. I didn't think I could fit much in there, and figured I'd have to put my golf clubs in the passenger seat...

however, went to play a round this weekend, and BAM! fit right in!! had to take the driver out and put it in separately, but I was pleasantly surprised that it fit...

just a heads up, although those of you who golf probably know this already

Shocked? LOL Yeah, a full size bag even with the latest shaft length driver fits just fine in the trunk, unlike the Miata where you have to take out some clubs and arrange separate from the bag [yes, I did consider that when evaluating a Miata]. It's like they designed the trunk width for the golf bag (which they most likely did).

You can get a folding hand cart in there too, provided you don't have the spare tire and assembly.

I go out for a game somewhat often with 2 others. We get my full size bag and my friends slim in the trunk and my dad's fits right behind the driver's seat. 3 people with 3 sets of clubs getting out of the car usually raises an eyebrow at the course hehe. No carts though which is sad because I like walking the course but hate to carry a bag.

you can fit them in without taking out the driver if you go driver head in first and then drop the bag in. well, i guess it also depends on how big your sticks are. hmmm....should probably edit those comments....

Golf bag fits with the driver seperate easy. I have gotten two back there, but one was a little ping moon bag. Also the right size hockey bag fits in there (no shoulder pads). My old one didn't but my new one does. My old one was about an inch too wide for the hatch opening, new one slides right in.

This was one of Mazda's advertising points before the Rx8 was released.

i have to take all of my woods out if i want to fit them in the trunk. when i am driving by myself with my clubs, i just put them in the front passenger seat. then again, doesn't really matter since i only got out to golf 4 times this year...

The RX-8 is quite practical when compared to the S2000 and Z.

You must have a very oversized bag or custom [extra long] shafts. I insert the base of my standard bag in the right detent and then it lays in fine with just a bit of driver head cover positioning to get it by the trunk lip into the left detent.
