A few of you need to relax a little bit......you make it sound like I am obsessed with this.

I realize the RX8 isn't held together by paperclips and duct tape and won't fall apart going over a crack in the road.

It is a fair question to consider. If there is any chance shifting during rough road might cause a little extra wear and tear on the transmission, I'd rather find out now, rather than later.

If it makes no difference, yay.

Ive never notices a difference, I used to live on a gravel road in Iowa so my car is used to rough roads. I shift the same whether Im on a gravel road, going over train tracks, merging on an offramp, or just driving around a city.

The difference for me is approaching, I push the clutch in and slow down before a big bump, as opposed to just driving over speed bumps at 50mph.

Thats just my driving habits.
