What's with all the coolant and water?

You realize that the system only holds about 2 gallons when bone dry, right?

Also you won't want to add water to the 50/50 you've bought (which has water in it already).

psh shes a high class girl, she woulda been more happy with imported distilled water. Thats just cheap. Your gonna hear about this one. Buying distilled water at walmart is like buying her gas at walmart, its just shameful behavior.

Also I am pretty sure our system holds 10 - 11 quarts in the cooling system. So you did good! Especially if your going for the 25/75 mix. (I don't know what the coldest weather you see there is but here you only need protection down to 0 degrees).

I ended up adding 2 gallons, and a bit from the 3rd gallon. Always good to have some extra in hand right?

Not a good idea ... you dont want the bacteria and deposits from town water mixing through your intercooler for long periods of time.

Yeah I would only flush with distilled water, but first you need a reason to flush. There is no reason to flush if you don't have deposits, or rust.

Really what I do is remove the heater hose, after I have drained the system. Then go ahead and remove the engine coolant lines. I clean the lines out, check the fittings and connections. After they all look good and like new I put everything back together and fill her back up.

I thought that we don't have to change the coolant until 100k? Or does this just apply to s2 models?

Depends on who you ask. The company that makes it will tell you its good for 8-10 years. But they also tell people they can change their oil every 15,000 miles at some dealerships. So who do you trust:P
