Seriously, what the hell!?

Ok, let me start by saying hello. My first rotary was '79, never had real serious problems with my cars, especially with the engine, as long as i don't treat them rough and just follow a maintenance routine they've never let me down. Personally, i wish i knew what some of you guys are doing, some of your cars are falling apart..

i got an '04, since '04 and never had a problem engine or otherwise. I love my car, but i find there aren't many choices out there, and some of the choices we have are just way too expensive for the regular blue collar worker.

I guess my gripe is... That why is it that, when some company or individual comes out with an idea, alot of you guys hate upon their enthusiasm or interest on our cars. Personally i welcome it. the more options the better, be it radical or tame, at-least there are options.

There's a a new kit from C-west, i found a Lamborghini kit, Hell!! there's a dude out there making his own parts on his spare time, cant remember what his name was but hes here on the forums, and i support them all. I might not like some of their ideas but i do welcome options. The more there is the better, i say...

So, damn it man!! QUIT HATING!! DAMN!!

By the way, to the folks who are handling this site.. You guys are doing a good job!

ok so i was going to post something random but this seems like a legit topic seeing as to how i'm some-what regarded in the op.

I personally love the original design and thought behind the styling of the rx8. Smooth but aggressive lines throughout the body. I feel that manufacturers should consider that when designing an 'aftermarket' bodykit. Perhaps on some cars, rigid n' angular lines compliment the body but for our 8's i honestly don't think it does it justice. It ruins the flow IMO.

I also believe in constructive criticism. Not everybody is going to like your design or style but if it's supposed to be a design in which you want people to invest in then perhaps gaining the consensus would be a good idea...financially anyways...

Then again, i can understand your point in which people are going to hate for no other purpose than to express their disgust - but you really can't stop them on that. They're stating their opinion and we really can't do anything about it (at least legally )

C-west has a certain look so no matter what we say or do - they're never going to change their 'look' - it's their trademark look. The only thing we can do about it is hate it or love it. That lambo guy gets props for going after what he wanted - but if he's looking for an opinion from others...he sure as hell got it from all of us. If he really did care what other people thought then perhaps he should have tried consulting a few people that weren't 'yes-men', ya know? I harvest negative feelings regarding his choice for multiple reasons but it's nothing i can change so i chose to stay quiet - others just chose the opposite. Nothing we can do. Just ignore it and go about your own business - being a bigger man and letting babies cry is just another part of exemplifying maturity...

Your right in what your saying, i think the car body styling is sexy as hell by its self. I guess what im trying to say is that i welcome ideas and change, for both performance and styling. the more the merrier.

I would like to see Mazda do what Toyota and Lexus do for their performance vehicles. Toyota has TRD and Lexus has the F1 Sport line. which both these companies cover styling and performance.

Mazdaspeed is ok, but what do they support? Not the rotary itself. Unless im missing something.

TRD, seriously? Wow, a supercharger for a TC TRD's off road stuff is not even that great. Lexus has the F Sport stuff because they have to compete with BMW M and AMG.

Mazdaspeed is actually way more involved than the other factory performance divisions.

Just to tack on a few things:

TRD - That TC supercharger is like $4,000 or so for 40HP, and gives around. I'm very confident that you can FI the TC for less and get more HP than that...

Nismo - pretty similar to what MS is right now. Both are pretty involved in motorsports, and both have 40th anniversary editions that just have trim differences and different wheels :P (I kid, I kid, Nismo and MS are pretty good)

Mugen - Have you guys seen the Mugan CRX? It's like Mugen decided to hire the 19 year old rice-tastic kids that buy the Civics.

So in summary - MS is not as bad as you'd think.

Yeah Mugen used to be awesome but their stuff is crazy expensive ($900.00 for a B series valve cover).

Nismo is pretty good, not only for their cars but off road stuff too.

I've thought about this before also. I'm a guy who used to drive an American POS through high school and college and never had a problem at 180,000 miles when I sold the car. My old Honda went to 280,000 miles and running fine before I sold it. My RX8 is at 150,000 miles and going just fine. Never had a significant problem with any car I've driven.

I believe that 90% of men AND women drive their cars way too hard. Have you ever been at a stoplight and when it turns green, everyone zips off the line? No matter what I've driven over the years, it seems that almost everyone else gets off the line and/or accelerates faster than I do, including women in minivans and people in total **** cars like Toyota Corollas.

IMO, most people, especially those driving American cars, are way too hard on them in stop and go driving. To most people, flooring it at the traffic light is totally normal. So if their car, whether it's a Chevrolet or RX8, falls apart, they claim it couldn't have been due to their driving.

Main Entry: fan·bois
Pronunciation: \ˈfan-ˈbȯi\
Function: noun
Etymology: Modern American English; corruption of the word "fanboy";

1 : an individual who, without reservation or mitigation, enthusiastically professes affinity for a particular supplier of parts or services without having any particular direct affiliation with that individual or supplier or any first-hand knowledge of the parts, services or methods of that individual or supplier.
2 : an individual or entity that promotes, endorses or otherwise supports another individual or entity, regardless of the quality, suitability, integrity or efficacy of that individual's or entity's product or service

synonyms see cheerleader

Or, if you prefer, the "Urban Dictionary" definition:

fanboi:

Geek Term related to forum users who think a product/company/person can do no wrong.

I have always driven rotaries, the way they feel and the sound is very diffrent, yes there are alot of people that go from a 4banger to a V8, then when they get into a rotary they complain cause of what their used to. most people dont do their homework on the rotary, thats why u get the flooding stories and questions on why their engine is dead on the side of the road. when i mentioned TRD & LEXUS is to use them as an example. Yes, we have MS, but they dont really support the rotary engine and tranny. suspension and interior, yes. I just would like to see some developement on "Our" engines not just for their race team but actual engine upgrades backed up by the company. i would like to evetually like to be able to open up a magazine that actually covers the Wankel and Renesis, hell maybe a tv show. and yes i guess i am a fanboi. whats the problem with being company specific. How many Rotaries have u owned?

To everything you've said in this thread.

1: The C-West kit is sick, haters are gonna hate. Just like they do on my kit. To each his own.
2. Like Atilla said, the lambo dude should of consulted other people. Obviously he doesn't have any close friends, because if he did they would of told him his kit looks like absolute ****. The reason people get upset is because he destroyed an RX8.
3. Personally, I love Mazdaspeed. I dont know what the heck you're talking about with no suspension upgrades or anything. They have springs, that I use to own and LOVED. The also make exhausts, cold air intakes and obviously the body kit for the RX8. I don't know why you expect them to focus all their energy (or any) on the RX8, especially when there's cars like the Mazdaspeed 3 that sells a million times better than the 8. Sure, a MS factory turbo RX8 would be awesome. You have to look at it on the standpoint that it wouldn't make sense for Mazda. Chances are it would be even more unreliable, and they'd have to offer a pretty gnarly warranty. And also, the Mazdaspeed 3 sells a lot worse than the Mazda 3. Imagine how much worse the Mazdaspeed RX8 would sell than the RX8, which already sells like ****. Can't be selfish dude.
