serious answer:
what button did you push?
and
take a picture of it and post it.
and
carfax can only report, what is reported to them by the insurance company. so if someone says, "i drive 8k miles a year." and they owned the car for 3 years then sold it. carfax will say, "ok, the car has 24k miles on it." regardless of what the mileage actually is.

Did you change the display from miles to kilometers?
Do you find yourself getting passed by everyone, and getting fewer speeding tickets, because 90 on the speedometer is really only 56 mph?

And....if the car came with an owners manual you might want to read it. If not you can download on for free ya know?

It's on page 5-31 in the 05 manual! Jeez!
Here's a brief description!
Speed Unit Selector
In some countries, you may have to
change the speed units between km/h and
mph.
Press the speed unit selector for 2 second
or more.
The speed units for the speedometer will
change between km/h and mph.
NOTE
Odometer and trip meter distance units
will change between kilometers and
miles in accordance with the speed unit.

Carfax also reports info from dealers at service intervals and from the Motor Vehicles dept's when it is titled.

I've always been tempted to change it if for some reason I have to let someone else drive my car... just to see their reaction. but I havnt found a reason someone has to drive yet so my plan must wait.
Also, no one pointed this out, but google will do conversions. just search <number> <unit of measure> in <unit of measure> (ex. 48000 miles in kilometers)
