Cooper S over Si
What I like about the Cooper is that they are heavily modifiable, and easy to make your own. My mother in law used to have a 6 speed Cooper S, and it was a pretty fun car (but not really any faster than the RX-8 in a straight line). A Cooper Works would probably be quicker than the RX-8.

Don't let a girl's view of a car influence what you want to get, particularly if it's a civic. I expect you would regret that decision, especially if things don't work out with her. If you have to have a certain car to get her, then it's also not worth it.
If you enjoy sports cars, switching from an 8 to a civic is not going to be a proper. You'll have to decide what is important to you. There are plenty of other options if the color is one of the top issues.

This thread is amusing... (chinese spam aside)...
Ok I can honestly understand getting rid of the car because you hate the color. I hate red too, and I wouldn't have kept it as long as you have.
But seriously, getting the Civic because a GIRL thinks they are cool? I have no doubts that you're a teenager (I could be wrong, very wrong, but you sure come across like one). But understand that the odds of you being with this girl 2 or 3 years down the road is slim to none, so you need to get a car that you are happy with, not a car that SHE is happy with. Go drive a Civic Si, and if YOU love the car, then get it.
If it's the Z that puts that smile on your face, get it. Although you won't save **** in gas.

Civic really ... VTEC is probably what you want hu. And going from a RX8 to a Civic really means you just got the RX8 to get it cuz it looks cool. Not really wanting it cuz of what it is. Ive owned about 20 + civic ( I buy them fix them and resell them ) their great cars for college students, high school students, and people that cant afford good cars like the Nismo 370z or a Rx8 :LOL , but really everyone and their gramma has a civic and lots of ricers I mean guys that like sporty cars, want a civic cuz after market parts are so cheap, trust me I know. Plus resale on a civic no matter how many miles it has it sales. $$$ Good Luck with decision. I would never get rid of a Rotary for a Civic ,

Idk guys. I think all of you are right and I would probably regret getting rid of my 8 for a civic. But if I get the Fiji blue civic Si like a 2007, idk. Go check it out. But what I think I really would be happy with is a winning blue 8 or a Daytona blue 350z. I honestly can't see myself going from an 8 to a civic. It's just the red that I don't like and it's messing with my head!

I never really understood people who care so much about a car's color. When I was looking for a RX-8, the only color I really didn't want was Nordic Green. When a 19k mile Nordic Green came up for sale for a great price, I didn't think twice about the color and bought that car for its mechanical value.
If color makes you like or dislike a car, then the Rx-8 is probably not your cup of tea. Please sell it to someone who will enjoy it for what it is.
Have fun with your Honda

Car color is important to more people than it isn't. 8 owner's included. I'd say you are more an exception than the rule here
Preferring one color over another doesn't make anyone more or less apt or ideal to own one car over another. I wouldn't settle for anything other than WWP. Does that mean the 8 really isn't for me? Hardly

You might be right; I am probably the exception here.
Probably the engineer in me. I truly believe and practice "Form Follows Function" mentallity.
And it isn't that I disagree with his preference of one color over another. I also have color preferences, but they would never sway my purchase of a car if it was a good deal. I personally would never sell a car based on its color.
My point was that a person who is willing to do that is more worried about image and looks.......not about the mechanical greatness that is the RX-8 platform.
Agree to disagree.

You guys making fun of me for wanting a civic, I just asking your opinion. You don't have to be pissy about it. But yes, color matters to me and I'm sure ur does to other 8 owners. I want a car that I'm truly happy with and blue is my favorite color. I truly respect what my 8 can do and I really want to have another 8. If it was only easier finding someone who would trade.

Another thing that sucks is that when I got my car, I noticed the headlights were fairly scratched up and I can't fix it. They also get foggy and I have already cleaned and buffed them. Headlights can be one of the sexiest parts of a car and that makes me mad too. I've thought about tinting them but I don't want to just look like another VR with tinted lights. If I had a blue , I'd be in love. I'm scared to upgrade my VR because I feel like I might get rid of it.

tl;dr
Saw some where that a girl thought a civic was sexy.
My opinion: Any chick that thinks a civic is sexy is below standard
Please take this rough diagram into consideration:
* <== That Italian Chick from that Fiat Abrath Commercial
* <==Standard
* <== Old bag lady at the supermarket that has like 9 billion cats
* <==Chicks that think Civics are sexy

Lmao. Okay guys I get it.
I'm keeping my 8.
Now for a new look. I'm wanting Varrstoen 2.2.1 and I'm on stock height. Haven't decided if I'm lowering yet. Anyone know the offsets I'd need if I want 18x9 or 9.5 on a 225/40 or 235/40 tire? I posted this in the aggressive wheel section as well.

If you plan on lowering, and don't want to modify fenders, then you probably want to be higher offset than +35 on 9" wide and higher than +42 on 9.5" wheels. In order to provide a definitive answer though, we would need to know exact drop and tire choice.
You also stated 225/40R18 tires....did you mean 225/45R18? 225/40 will be quite small in diameter compared to stock.
Also.....you didn't mention it, but I am guessing you are looking for a square setup?

18x9.5 with 225's??
that's a lot of stretch for a square setup.
* If you are aiming for square, look for 265's in either a 40 or 35 series sidewall. Offset >+35 (With no fender modifications and moderate lowering)
* If you are aiming for hellaflush, keep the 225's n' aim for an offset around +15. Fender modifications needed and slammed

Attilla which size would I need in the front then?
And yes I would want a square fitment.
Because 265 is quite larger than regular 225.
So 265/40 in the rear with a 18X9 or 9.5?

I am running 18x9 E45 with 265/35R18 and am lowered on Progress Tech springs. Check out my albums and see if you like that look. It is not super agressive, but the wheel lip is 17.7 mm (almost 3/4 inch) farther outboard that stock. The 265's also look very meaty.
What setup did you have on your S13?
