Talking Saw One on the Road!!!

Howdy all!
I was driving home in Southern California the other afternoon and saw a car half covered in black tape with a blue MI manuf plate. Well from what I have seen online I recognised the car right off. I tried to get a view from each angle and the guy pulled away like he was annoyed. Well when traffice slowed on the 405 I caught him and had scribbled RX-8? on a note pad. Yep its the real thing!

Yep, there's a red and a yellow one around Irvine Mazda Headquarters. They are both heavily disguised but it is completely obvious for us to recognize. There's a thread posted down below called "RX-8-SPIED!" also. Nice not being the only one to see them.

it doesn't make sence to me that they would "try" to cover up the lines of the car, and disguise it so those not in the know wouldn't give it a second thought...
if they had a production-ready prototype (or something of the like), wouldn't they want people to see it as they "zoom zoom" around??
wouldn't that kinda cause some i-want-one type feelings in the hearts of south californians (not unlike SoCal's) ?? especially now that everyone (who cares) knows how they're gonna look, so those who're gonna copy anything have already done so?? i just don't get it...
wicked on the spotting.... do they seem to suggest anything different from the design at the top-left of the page is in store for production??

Well they were covering up the front dam and rear section of the car also every badge was covered even the steering wheel badge. The wheels even had smallpeices of tape attached. I drive the 133 to the 405 every day and will keep an eye out. I saw an earlier post saying it was about the size of an Acura RSX, I havent looked at the specs but it didnt look very small it seemed quite long actually. I will tell you the front pseudo fenders are a little weird looking kinda a design gimmic if you ask me.

Whenever I am in Lake Geneva, WI I always see pre-production cars driving around. I guess it's time take another day trip and hope that someone from MI is out taking a long drive.

Could you at least get our good side if you are going to take pictures? BTW, the less you show the more you want.
