oh okay. when i was getting rid of the 8 i searched and searched to find the best car i can get for the money and it was between evo x, 09 wrx, 09 sti, 370z, RX-8 R3, and a Genesis. i narrowed it down to the evo and wrx/sti only because they are awd and the winters have been really bad lately here in nj. then the prices of the evo x and sti were so much money i decided for the same amount of power i can get in the sti i may as well just get the wrx and i love the car but i miss the 8 lol

Those are a good list of cars there just out of my price range...My insurance is gonna go crazy high and it was already high for the rx8 alone...I dont think i could stand a more expensive car and my insurance practically doubling

stewiefied 03-29-2010 12:21 AM

did you hear anything from the insurance yet?? like what you're getting from them i mean and stuff ??

Yeah... might be worth it to spend some time in the "Hot Hatch" category until your insurance cheapens up. GTI or MSpeed3, older focus SVT, I don't think Subaru interiors are very nice considering the price, my opinion though.

EinHeisserSchrei 03-29-2010 05:15 PM

Dibs on the shift knob if it's 6 speed and if you're parting out!

Good suggestions. Another tactic is to go for an interesting but much older car, say ~10 yrs, that is worth so little you can self-insure as far as collision coverage is concerned until you go long enough from this accident that you are no longer in the higher-risk category. As an extreme example, I bought a 10 y.o. Audi Quattro for $1500 and ended up liking it so much, I drove it for 12 years! That saved many thousands of $$ in insurance money that I didn't have to pay.

Is insurance not compulsory in the states?? What if you hit someone else and it's your fault? Where does that person stand?

Third party liability and collision coverage policies are not required in all States. Each state has its own laws on insurance. California is mandatory, but not all of them.

rodjonathan 03-31-2010 08:42 PM

texas requires at least liability ... im sure most states do dont they?

Twiztid 04-03-2010 11:09 AM

ZumnRx8 04-03-2010 10:27 PM

Twiztid 04-03-2010 10:43 PM

the saab 9-2x comes in manual. that black one at the last cruise is one.

Cf05 04-04-2010 12:53 AM

There is no part out the insurance company own his 8, as for the new car well he and I are arguing about that currently lol, I think he's leaning towards a gsx or 240sx

RyansRx8 04-04-2010 01:50 AM

not parting out the 8 the insurance has my car now..selling some things here soon but not alot...like charlie said im leaning towards a 240, gsx, and maybe a speedprotege...just something cheap and turbocharged that i can make some decent power out of

My friend has one there cool little cars and super cheap...comes stock turbocharged fwd and racing beat sway bars...they actually lack power stock but alot can be modded to get it up there

JeRKy 8 Owner 04-04-2010 03:32 AM

Not sure if anybody mentioned this yet because I don't feel like reading 5 pages of this thread, but this crash has got to be on the top 3 list of most smashed up 8 you've ever seen before. This looks worse than the 8 that was ran over by a tank at a military base...

By the way, how scratched up is your shift knob? I'm trying to replace mine and I'll buy yours off you if it's in mint condition
