Is this rx8 worth it?

I had an 04 Mazda rx8 but got wrecked and instead they bought it from me which was not bad at all for what the car was worth. Now am looking for another rx8 and I found a 04 that has 94 xxx miles on it with a new engine only 9xx miles on the engine. Has new wire plugs coils new clutch, New throttle body. Only bads are that it needs new tires And has a solenoid low circuit or short. Is it worth buying this car . And the only thing that scares me is that solenoid :/ and I test drove it and it was pretty smooth but overall a really good looking rx8 with custom black and grey two toned color with red/black leather interior and aftermarket exhaust and nice body kit and air intake with also a sway bar. Price am getting it for is either 6k or 7k no more than that. If you could respond back I would really be thankful. Need a car by Tuesday .

I would think as a former owner you would know what to look for and what constitutes a good deal. My only advice is to get an 06 or newer, just so you have the assurance of a warranty. If mine were to get destroyed, I would go with an 09 or newer. I have actually looked into it, but finding one fully loaded is not easy and I am just not in the mood to spend a possible 18k plus for another car right now.

If i were you, i will look for an 06 or newer. If you really want that car, then you should know that it needs a compression test, so that you know what the condition of the engine is. Anyway, whatever you decide to do, good luck with it.

Since it has a new engine, the main reason for looking for '06 or newer - ECU flash not being right until then - is pretty much moot.

Just research the going price and figure the cost of new tires and fixing the solenoid.

in my opinion, you dont need 06 and above. As already mentioned, the only reason you would get one would be for the flashes but since it has a new engine you should be ok. Plus it has a new ignition system.

For the tires, you can check craiglist/kijiji and find wholesale prices or private sales. I got 4 new nexen tires for 300+ installation = 400$

As for the solenoid, which one is faulty? If my memory serves me right, they are all the same part? It cant be that expensive to fix. There are DIY's as well with video. For 6-7k, I think its a pretty good deal. All the unreliable variables have been eliminated on the car. Plus, if you wanted to mod it, it already has mods so that a bonus.

good luck!

Engine was just put on march of this year at a Mazda dealership brand new and only has 946 miles on it and the car has 94xxx. And
Yeah am not worried about the tires since I already got a set of platinum kumuho tires but that's the problem just checked it out and it throwing off either a low circuit or short and don't know how much the repair cost would be

With a practically new engine, that sounds like a decent deal.

Go for it! As an '04 owner I've had my share of things break (mainly due to previous owner's negligence) but since it has a new engine with all the new flashes in it then you should be set! Just check the oil every fill up and all the other general maintenance and upkeep and you should be set! Of course with an RX-8, you never know ;P
