RX8 Virgin

Hey all! I just traded in my '04 Accord V6 Coupe and picked up a black '04 8 a few days ago. So far, I love the 8. Gas mileage could be better, but it came as no suprise. I am however, looking to add an iPod attachment in the next week or so. Any advice about where to find one? Also, if I get a place like Best Buy to do the install, will it void any part of my warranty? Any advice would be great! I look forward to sharing questions and new insight with all of you.

If you but the OEM one, you can have a dealer do it with no warranty issues. I am pretty sure the same is true of Best Buy but I do not know. I had my dealer do it.

Welcome . The dealership should be able to help you out with the pod.

ok, now that we've dealt with the mandatory 1st post hazing; WELCOME!
It's been my experience that iPods and stereos are what make up 99.9% of the "interior modifications" sub-forum, so I'm sure if you browse that section you'll find all you're looking for and more.

Also, I hope you're thick skinned because this forum doesn't take kindly to most newbies. Enjoy your stay

You mean on the iPod side? I'm guessing for a smaller iPod (nano, etc)?

Yes the iPod side, and you may be right about the Nano.

Looks like the cap not another plug. All the ipods except for the shuffle use the same connector.

This is the one I got:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/your-ipod-mp3-player-integration-solution-here-77790/

The dealer was back there doing something warranty-related to my radio, and I had the guy plug it in while he was there...ran the little box under the center console and the wire out the plug thingie in the cupholder. Works great and charges the iPod while it's plugged in

It's actually quite pleasant that there seems to be a little less of that kind of nonsense going on around here lately. Of course, I'm probably jinxing it by mentioning it...

Congrats on the car and welcome to the forum. If you search OEM IPOD Titles only you will find several threads.

This one was mine.
