Rx8 on-track redemption

I actaully found this in which the Rx8 finishes ahead of the S2000. Most other clip I've seen had the S2000 usually ahead of the Rx8.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkpC3dsTUgw

The rx8 in the video clip is of A spec. I could tell from the video it could easily out corner other fwd integra type car.

it's not always about mods...the driver often has a large influence on outcome too.

The RX-8 is going to have a tough time keeping up with the S2000 or even the 350Z on the track, especially in stock form.

My RX8 smokes all 350Z on the track, now the S2000 is another story.

Wow, the S2000 wasn't even in sight at the finish. The A spec-8 is stiffer suspended, but otherwise has the stock power ratings. Not bad.

Otherwise, the video just confirms that some guys have WAY cooler jobs than I do. Oh, and I am far from mastering the art of the heel and toe.

Bah, dump it down a gear on the entry, nail the brake, leave it in gear and power out. Heel and toeing is cool, but unfortunately quite useless in everyday life.

Sorry Schuey. I thought modulating brake pressure WHILE matching revs with one foot ain't easy.

I thought it was interesting that the S2000 couldn't hold the turn and went off the road while the RX8 continued to accelerate. I bet it was the tires...

If Mazda couldn't give the Rx8 more power, at least they should make MazdaSpeed suspension setup standard on the Rx8. I drove it at ZZL and it definitely felt kind of soft. I think Mazda should go all the way with the rx8. The current version is a little in the middle of the road -- defintely not a sedan but not a pure sport car either. It then would be a nice counterpart to Nissan 350Z (future Toyota Supra) but with sweeter handling.

It kind of irks me that with the new Honda NSX, Toyoto Supra, Nissan 350Z/Skyline, Mazda doesn't seem to have anything in this affordable, high performance segment. But nothing that couldn't be fixed with a brand new Rx7.

I was watching an old video with Rx7 competing against the NSX and the Rx7 was just out-cornering the NSX easily. Imagine what the Rx7 can do with updated suspension, engine.
