I dont know how yellow they are but the 3M headlight repair kit would totally work better if the yellow is caked on

Wait....WTF?.....that's the first time in my life I have ever told a woman she could put her bra back on! I'd like to retract that!

Your MPG couldn't have dropped 20 as that would put it like 2 gallons to the mile. Your overall distance could drop up to like 50 miles total if you did more city driving than normal. Old oil won't be the cause though.

Think she meant by twenty miles in a tank.
Lot of factors might go into that Rach, including hi-way vs. city, the actual type of gas used(brand), the octane of the gas, the exact amount you have filled up with.....etc. Plus........if you didn't come home and have been driving around only in Orlando on this tank, then you've had far more stop and go traffic, that will do it!

I don't think I'd be too alarmed over the 20 mile difference per tank, it will probably fluctuate that much do the above mentioned,however..............I'm assuming your CEL is still on for what is either the O2 sensor or the CAT, so I really do need to catch-up with you and get that read, so we can get it straightened out.

Dave

If the O2 sensor is bad - the car will stay in open loop and eat more gas.... just throwing that out there.

Okay.....we will do that.
Kane, yeah I figure since we did look at the CAT and thought it was okay, it's not likely it.....but it could be the o2 sensor and "yep", that would certainly lead to worse mileage.

Haven't chimed in here in a while. Glad to hear that the car is still running!

I've been slammed at work and finally feel like I have a little free time, so if you guys need anything from me, I'm right around the corner.

BTW, I bumped into the guy who initially said that the engine was toast. I go to the store he works at all the time, and have talked to him quite a few times. Also bumped into him at Orlando Speedworld once or twice. Melbourne is such a small town!

Anyway, he asked me how my car was running, and I told him great, and he responded with how he had "this friend with a black RX-8" and she was "having a lot of problems with it," and that he thought her engine had no compression. At this point I mentioned your name and we just laughed.

I won't get into the rest of the conversation, but the guy was basically like "I give up on rotaries!" haha.

Remember we still have to look at that o2 sensor and possibly CAT.
I'm busy as hell at work too, and in the middle of selling my house and buying another! Woot!

oh and just so you know, every one is ok that was involved im the only one whos actually hurt lol just a sore body!!!

First of all... I'm glad you are alright. If you are still feeling residual soreness, go to a doctor for sure. If you end up feeling worse later, which can sometimes happen days after the accident it is good to have the initial consultation with the doctor. As for the car, I'm definitely with those above me, push to total the car, and use the money to get another car. With the damage, chances are the car will never drive the same if repaired.

Yeah, it's totaled, especially with the odo that high, they aren't going to want to pay to fix it. I had a sinking feeling about this. Probably still the highest mileage 8 out there.

+1 to going to a doctor and getting checked out. If nothing else, you want it on record in-case you need it later.

Damage all looks from the side, like one of you pulled out in front of the other That sucks. This thread has been the best story on the boards
