i was driving around downtown columbus last night and i saw an rx8 pizza delivery car for donatos... it made me chuckle

that person has to be working only to pay for gas to deliver the pizzas!!! because i know donatos makes you pay for your own gas

Yeah, not exactly an economical delivery vehicle.

But, hey, gotta pay the bills somehow.

 

I can't imagine even breaking even. The stop-go-idle cycle would probably drop you down to 10 MPG. I've delivered pizza before (not in the 8, thankfully), and you don't get at all close to rated city mileage when doing it. And good gawd don't let the insurance company find out.

 

We are only going to see this more since 2004 and 2005 models are fairly inexpensive to purchase.

 

Maybe it's an ivestment banker who got laid off.

 

maybe it was some kid borrowing his older, more successful brother's car for a couple of days because he blew the motor on his b16 honda civic

Soon a turbo kit will cost more than the damn car itself. F69k, a tank of gas might cost more than the car in a few years.

I'm not in that guy's situation, so I can't know his reasons. But, if I was faced with a need to feed my family by working delivering pizza, I would certainly do it.
