RX8 Owner's Statistics

In its last salesyear 2009 a 231 HP Rex did cost over Euro 57.000,- equivalent to approx. USD 79.800,-
Furthermore the high gas consumption with a gasprice of (at this moment) Euro 1.74 per one liter (equivalent USD 9.22 per Gallon) is a strong disadvantage and the sensitive rotary engine is feared.
Mazda tried to push sales of the RX-8 by forcing the Mazda-dealers in 2005/2006 to take one or a couple in stock.
It took most dealers sometimes a couple of years to get rid of the approx. 50 units which were smashed on the market by the importer.
Even at this moment there is still a new 192 hp Rex (approx. VIN 2006) in stock with a certain Mazda-dealer.

Mine with VIN mid 2005 arrived end 2005/early 2006..........I purchased it early 2009 in new condition and payed after negotiation only 45% of the listprice for the new car.
I am very happy with it............the Rex is with 300 units more exclusive than a Aston Martin, Ferrari (6000 units) or Porsche (25.000 units)
Best regards,
Ruud

^ when you put it into that perspective, I can see what you mean about the exclusivity. Everywhere you go people must be like "what the hell is that." European car and fuel taxes are nuts compared to what we have here. I just paid $4 a gallon for premium fuel the other day and I was pissed. Maybe 60 cents of that is taxes.

"…this way if people want to get a general idea of owners and their cars…"
You might want to amend that. Statistically, it needs to say "this way if people want to get a general idea of owners and their cars who respond to this suvey." Big difference.
