RX8 HP gains
Hey have any of you been to this web sight http://www.srmotorsports.com/ ?
This company SRMotor Sports have a 04 RX8 they are working on speed products you can bolt onto the RX8. Some of them look pretty promisimg. They Dyno test them to verify the results. Any of you tried any of their products or thought about it?
Their GT-3 kits which has the Cold air intake, underdrive pullies and high flow CAT Conv looks good, they claim 30hp gain which would realy put the 8 about right where most everyone wants it , like 270 hp.
My only real concern would be underdriving the water pump and any effects to engine cooling since the 8 has such high rpms and from reading your posts sounds like the engine puts out a lot of heat.
Im real suprised no one yet on the web , or at least I havent found it yet, has a super charger/blower set up for the 8. That I think would be the perfect way to get that little more hp like 30 or so. I dont think turbo is the way to go cause you dont want to constrict hot exhaust gases on a rotory engine, and I don't think Mazda will go turbo again either, too many maint problems.
I think the problem with a blower is trying to drive it off the engine. There seams to be room in front of the engine where the air cleaner is, but not much room close up to the engine where you would normally mount one in the drive belt plane.

Re turbos and SCs - fueling and timing control remains the big issue. That is what seems to be holding up any kits from the market so far.
