RX8 is gone...replaced it with this
WEll, my RX8 is gone. It was a love/hate realtionship. When it wasn;t in the shop, I loved it. The problem was it was always in the shop. Frick'n Canada...no lemon laws!!
I did however drive the crap out of the RX8 before I returned it. I had to put new tired on before the lease was up so I had 1.5 months to scub those tires down a bit before returning the car. I must say I really enjoyed the last month with my car.
The things I will miss the most:
1) the view from the drivers seat overlooking the hood. It really have the best hood out there.
2) The digital speedo a) because my wife could never see how fast I was driving b) if she did manage to lean far enough I would just switch it from KM's to miles per hour and say, "see honey, I'm only goign 100. c) Its going to take me a while to get used to non ditital speedo
3) I am really going to miss just how stupid fast you could throw the RX8 into a corner and still come out smelling like a rose.
With all the probleam I had with the car the thing that soured me the most were the dealers...They turned me right off to buying anything Mazda again.
So here's the new car. Its a different kined of car all together but somehting that fits nice.
...atleast I didn't get a "rustang"

幹他媽!
nice looking car. my only problem with the IS is that they are freaking everywhere on the road here in LA. i could randomly throw a nickel out my car window without even looking and hit one... hahahahah. same goes for the bmw 3 series but oh well.
congrats

you mean bmw everything dude? 3 series, z4, 5 series, and 7 series are everywhere in LA.
to the OP, nice choice dude, i almost bought one too. i ended up getting a tsx because 1. MPG, 2.standard features. tsx is just more bang for the buck + more backseat room for me, the only gripe i have with it is the FWD lol.

Test drove a 350, nice car, liked the ventilated seats. The delay in shifting via teh paddles was a tad annoying. Maybe they have fixed that in later models the one I drove was an 06. Probably would have gone for a 330i myself but not a bad car by any means.

Best friend has a silver IS350 and i ride in it all the time. Prob the BEST all around car for the money out there. Thing is damn fast too, mid/high 13's out of the box and those are REAL numbers that most drivers could easily hit. Great choice, have fun!

great choice Rotten, can't wait to hear the driver review.
I know how much of a headache your 8 was to you; hopefully this one will treat you a little better.
+1 to the stupid fast turns comment.

I shopped some other cars:
1) A BMW 3 series just wasn't an option. Locally it has become the symbol for being a douche-bag. I just couldn't see myself in one. Besides, the mark-up is huge and I've always hated the interior on BMW's.
2) I was thinking Audo A4. I test drove on and it was nice. Great interior but I've heard too many stories about reliability. I kind of have a sore spot for that now.
3) G37 Coupe - Test drove one....HATED IT!!! I was expecting so much more. The car felt heavy...pushed through corners...it was just so unsatisfying. Nice looking car, great interior. A little too small in the back seat too. I actually enjoyed driving a 2007 G35 Coupe more the the G37. It felt more connected with the road. We only have one Infinity dealer in Calgary and they have by far the worst rep wehn it comes to service.
4) G35 Sedan - I didn't mind it...but I didn't love it.
The IS350 just seemed to have the best balance of all the things I was looking for. Sure it doesn't corner like the RX8 but not many cars due. I was wanting something a bit different...more refined. I do like the power but even with 306 hp it is smooth power. The Lexus dealer here in town is top notch! I haven't heard one person speak badly of them.

Grand Chancellor
How about the MB C350? Sure it has less hp. But it drove real well and I feel it has is the sharpest looking of the bunch.
yeah I know what you mean about bmw. In Vancouver, 3-series are as common if not more common than civics. I read somewhere that there are more bmw per capita here than anywhere else outside f Germany.

I dont know your style but nice ride. I know I would tint the **** out of the windows...and get some black wheel action...20's obviously. RIDICULOUS. Good luck though...how fast is it?
Also...as soon as one person sells or turns in a lease on an RX-8...it seems 2 more people post and said they bought one. Interesting.

Rotten -Nice car, man. Very nice paint job from the factory.
SilverHokie - I almost traded my 8 in recently and the dealer told me that they actually have seen a pickup in demand for the RX8. He told me had a buddy in Florida who owned a chain of used car lots and the 8 was one of their most in demand used cars right now.
With gas prices where they are, it doesn't make sense, I know.
I think the 8 is just a great looking car, and the warranty to 100k miles must have helped provide peace of mind or something like that.
