RX8 for girls too ?
Rear ended and car totalled so I am shopping for a new car. My fav is the RX8. Used to have an RX7 in college and loved it. I know it saved me when I was that age and drove way too fast. That was 15 years ago, and maybe a few more than that.
Is this car "cool" for an adult woman, divorced ? My son age 10 loves it. I am very feminine and fun loving and just appreciate the car. I would rather have that car than a BMW or Lexus.
I don't want to see like a guy .............. Do girls have this car too ?

Not only do a lot of women own an RX-8, but a rather surprising number of them post on this website. You'll find that most online car communities have little female interaction, both online and at local meets, this one has quite a bit.
Just a friendly warning that the RX is the type of car that you develop a relationship with. If you are ready for that type of commitment, then I say go for it. Hard to describe, really. You each just take care of each other. Yo! before the eyes start rolling, admit it, dudes!
i just like the way it looks and drives. no relationship for me but i would expect to keep it for a long time. not a car trader. i don't mind adding oil.
i suppose i did have a relationship with my old Rx7. after college in NY my friend had to push it to start it all the way to Calif. that was a fun trip. got it fixed when i arrived.

Make sure you look for Phee, another of our kind who also hangs out here a lot. You and she both are from San Diego (I'm in LA Co). We could have a Ladies Only RX-8 drive!
There's another advantage of driving a stick.. ask abbid!

Why don't ya'll stop in TX on the way to Florida? There are four local ladies w/8's, a wife who can borrow the 8 for a few days and a former 7 owner who's soon-to-be an 8 owner who would love another road trip!

The first time I became interested in the 8 I was commuting to work one morning following a winning blue being driven by a very attractive woman. I idled up next to her at a stoplight, beeped, rolled down the window and asked her what she thought about the car. She loved it, of course, and that piqued my interest enough to learn more about the car and ultimately become an owner.
Additionally, each time I've taken my car to dealer for service, I've had the good fortune to meet other 8 owners like myself. They've all been female!
If you really like the car, and are prepared to adapt to the way to maintain and operate a rotary-powered vehicle, I say go for it. Definitely not just a man's car.

Ditto that! (as long as I don't have to be seen in a bathing suit!)
If too many chicks buy RX-8's, I'm afraid it will develop a reputation as a "chick car" and this will ruin sales to males for Mazda, since guys will then shy away from it. I'm not advocating a position on the issue but making a prediction, and am open to be convinced I'm wrong.
