RX8 Flashes

I'm reading some threads about some flashes that need to get done on the RX8. Since I'm a new owner I'm not sure what everyone is talking about. Could someone enlighten me. Sorry for the repeat topic. I've got a '04 MT with about 1700 miles.

thanks

Software updates for the engine computer (the PCM). The engine computer controls fuel/air/spark settings at all RPM.

The early US models of the RX-8 were set to run rich to cool the catalytic converter, but this rich fuel/air mixture caused a lot of flooding problems. Subsequent revisions of the software have improved the situation, smoothed the power curve, etc.
