Hi all,

Does anyone knowA) where the alarm unit is and B) if you can turn the volume up on on it, I have just set mine off to see how loud it was as the horn is quite loud !! to find a little fairy tweeting at me hardly able to hear to the fact that mates took the mickey !!!

Any help would be great !!

The alarm is located at the passenger side.

the alarm vol = your horn's vol.

So no, you cannot change it, unless you change your horn.

yeah, the system doens't have a siren, just uses the horn. If you pull your horn fuse while the alarm is going off there will be no siren.

 

I dont think its a factory fit then as the alarm is really quite quiet !!! and the horn is quite decent i mean i was stood about 20 feet from the car and could hardly hear it !!! its a 2003 model so were they fitted with factory units then ?

 

Yeah! I have the same problem as you. Mine is 04 with a battery backed alarm system. I tried setting it off and can barely hear anything from it. The turn signals flashes.
I disassambled the alarm sounder to check if it was anything wrong with the speaker/Siren and connected it to a speaker of my own, but it was nearly whispering too.
Maybe it's a Europe-model alarm for the 04s. Mine's from Austria.
