Does the 8 come with those platic engine covers on the 07 models? The reason I'm asking is the vehicle I'm picking up tomorrow didn't have them. If I ask and they tell me its a $500 option I don't want to be surprised.

Also, I have a mazdaspeed intake, not sure if that makes a difference / interferes with the covers.

Cover should be included with the car. I'm not aware of them removing the cover for 07 sales. In other words....I'm throwing up the

MS intake is nice, but I'm pretty sure the cover still fits with it on.

Cover does not fit on the car with the intake installed. I have an '07 with the performance package as well, but I kept the original components that came out of the car - they are yours to do with what you want.

 

I too have an 07 and it has all the plastic covers.

demand that they give you back the cover, or take it off the msrp, it came with the car, they just took it off when they installed ms cai

 

Yeah I'm gonna try and get them or take it off the MSRP... the dealership is a bunch of ****** though, so i doubt they'll give a ****, they already have a deposit

 

deposit is meaningless, you can always get the money back

someone lost the cover and they're covering their ***.

I have the Mazdaspeed intake and the cover fits just fine. It looses the snap to hold it down but gravity plus the hood takes care of that.

 

i think the problem he has is, the car is a demo so it's not a new car.
it is still considered used, in that respect they're giving what is now on the car
as a used vehicle. he can talk to them but where it stands they don't have to give it to him..

 

and a 2 dollar tiawana hooker says she doesnt have the clap .... but you know she comes with it. yet you still get it....

Sure, you can jam it in there if you really want - but it certainly doesn't fit properly.

 

my dealership gave me one when i went in for an oil change without mine on.

yep the dealership ended up throwing one in the trunk for me when I asked. It won't fit with the mazdaspeed intake as mentioned above so I can either sell it or mount it on my wall thanks for the advice all !
