hi!!! last week i went autoX with my 2004 stock rx8 (didnt refresh). after a big left G-circle turn, every time when the engine hits 5000rpm in 2nd gear, the engine cut the power and back down to 4000rpm or less. However, after 5 minutes rest, its fine at the beginning of the 2nd run, but after the left G-circle turn, it cuts the power again at 5000rpm. do u know whats the problem???? the fuel and engine oil level is fine.

Bad spark plug?
Clogged injector?
Less than 1/4 tank of gas?

How is the power delivery up until the cut off? Also, is this an auto or a 6 speed?

 

I know that the RX-8 does have some fuel starvation issues after certain cornering, but I'm not sure if Autocross would trigger it..

Did you have more than a quarter tank of gas at the time?

well. im pretty sure that the level of fuel is not the problem. Coz last mouth i went AutoX with yellow light on, and it was fine. My rx8 is 6speed manuel. This time my fuel level was more than 1/4. Before it cut off the power, the engine was as smooth as usual. During the cutting off, the engine was like up and down and up and down. im sure i turn off the DSC and hold it for 7sec, and im sure i pressed the gas all the way down.

It's programed to do that. It goes in limp mode. Need to shut off DSC and TCS

The auto has that button right?
