AT Rx8

Hi i just recently made my first post here last night about maybe buying a used rx8, it caught my eye mainly because if its low miles for the year, its fully loaded with nav and is very cheap.

It is automatic though and everyones says ill be disappointed by the lack of power compared to the Manual. Can there be simple things like a chip that will level out this gap of power in the two so its not so bad?

Torque is same in both i think and the Hp difference is 197 to 238 i think.

there isn't a chip to do anything. the only thing that will give big power boosts will be FI but you could have found that by searching around and reading the sticky threads. there is also a difference in power between 4-port and 6-port ATs based on year. i don't remember if it was 2005 or 2006 that they started doing 6-port but if you have to go AT i would suggest looking at 6 vs. 4.

Don't look at the HP differences. Go test drive a AT and a MT and see what best fits you and your needs.

No chips and to free up more power. But tons of BPU. FI will take care of that "missing power"

I have an Auto and it is fast. You can only go so fast anyways, unless you want a speeding ticket. I just got my 1st going 43 over so basically I'm screwed... I was redling mine & needless to say there he was just waiting for me.

I have a 6At and its faster than my Minivan and has lots of kick to it!! Prefer manual mode.
