Rx-evolv
II'll apologize in advance if this has been discussed already, but I just checked out the 2007 RX-8 official press release and saw a link for concept cars. They showed the RX-EVOLV which looked like a regular RX-8 but featured a normally aspirated engine producing 280 hp at 10,000 rpm. Is this possibly a preview to the speed 8 or an entirely new car? I would buy this car tomorrow. With 280 hp, you would have similar power to the G-35's and 350Z's, and be pretty close to Evo's, WRX-STI's and mustangs as well. Not to mention the awesome looks and handling charasteristics of the RX-8. This boost in hp (if produced) would be a major selling point to people like me who were on the "fence".

However, Speedsource is getting 260-265 hp with an internally stock Renesis so if you retuned the intake to rev higher, 280 could be possible! It doesn't mean it would be easy though.
