I don't have the exact numbers but the I read somewhere that it weighs just under 3000 lbs (something like 2800 or 2900lbs) and in the brochure, it says 1'384 kg for 6MT and 1'394 for 4At

Mine is showing a Gross Vehicle Weight of 3,809 pounds according to the sticker on the inside of the door. It's a six with the Grand Touring pkg. No spare even. Not sure if that's an actual weight. It's always seemed like a high number. Comments?

Cool He's not heavy.....

3809 lbs gross, means with all seats occupied by 'average people.'

Pretty sure they allow 180 lbs per 'A.P.'

So 4 x 180 = 720,
3809 - 720 = 3089 lbs for a 6MT, sounds about right....

Also, if you use a rough horsepower calculation,

a 3089 lb RX-8
+
a 150 lb Canzoomer (soaking wet!)
= 3239 lbs.

To achieve a 13.8 second quarter, would require....
= >270 horsepower......

please let it be true, yes, yes!

Thanks for clearing me up on the gross weight terminology. It should have been obvious to me that gross means with a load. I didn't know the 4 passenger, 180 pound assumption either however, so it was to my benefit to confess my ignorance.

Thanks for straightening me out. Darn glad to hear it's not as heavy as I'd thought.....
