Rx-8 vs Santa's Sleigh

Which is the better all-around vehicle?

I know Santa's sleigh is faster since it has like 40 dp (deer power) but it's much ligher except when packed with presents. What about a 1/4 miel race? Could the Rx-8 hang? Could a 350z hang with it?

The 350Z can't touch Santa in that sleigh with presents or not. The RX-8 can because Santa will be too busy staring at how beautiful the car is and looking for all the hidden triangles.

I'm suddenly reminded of the commercial where the cop in the helicopter has santa's sleigh "pulled over"

That commercial has got me...

Their should exist a company that makes commercial re-makes and show that commercial except with the Elf punching/jacking the cop... Now that would be funny...

And non the less how the hell does a cop stop a flying sleigh?

There are 2 billion children (persons under 18) in the world, but since Santa does not (apparently) handle the Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and Buddhist children, that reduces the workload to 15% of the total-- 378 million according to Population Reference Bureau. At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that's 91.8 million homes. One presumes that there is at least one good child in each.

Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). a total trip of 75-1/2 million miles, This means that Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second (2,340,000 miles per hour

Santa's ride does not have heated seats, but Rx-8s cannot provide your garden with fertilizer

I normally see presents under the tree sometimes weeks before Christmas so that would mean he could stop by earlier than Christmas day. But if he were to wait till the last minute that would be a fun sleigh ride. How many Gs would he pull at that incredible rate?

The RX-8 can haul more presents due to the trunk and rear seating along with the wonderful doors that open so getting those odd sized larger presents in are not an issue.

I have moved the front bumper and side skirts in my 8 before.

A seperate drive I had the Greddy SP2 already connected to the pipe fit very carefully in the car.

Santa's Ride can hold all the toys in the world - An RX-8 can't even carry 2 bales of hay and 3 feed sacks thats why we kept the old Mazda 323. But if you have an RX-8, who needs toys?

17500.06 G's - here it is

353,000 tons traveling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance-- this will heat the reindeer up in the same fashion as spacecraft re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer will absorb 14.3 quintillion joules of energy. Per second. Each. In short, they will burst into flame almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them, and create deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team will be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second. Santa, meanwhile, will be subjected to centrifugal forces 17,500.06 times greater than gravity. A 250-pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of his sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force.

They must use some form of lubricant to reduce the friction on the reindeer - Does Santa use a synthetic oil?

Santa drives a open convertable, an 8 only has a moonroof.

To travel at 650 MPS, what do you estimate the gas consumption to be...?

Santa uses a magical forcefield and interial dampeners to couteract the forces. But something to remember is that he's going something like 1% of the speed of light or faster so therefore time will be slightly slower for him than the rest of the world.

So that's how he does it all in one night!

Santa's ride does not have a large ornate spoiler and most 8s do not have large ornate spoilers - but then again, check out the new spoiler over in the photo section...could it generate airlift?

The original thread question was "What is a better all around vehicle?"
Boy did we get off topic.

So . . The RX is a better all around vehicle, cuz santas sleigh is not offered with a top. Convertable or hard top. So on the rainy days, he is left out in the cold. (Although living in the polar ice, I am sure he does not care about cold) Anywayz . . you think it is expensive to work on a rotary . .. . . What do you think santas vet bills are from all those deers?

Santa's ride can land on roof tops, Rx-8s have not been reported on top of houses except during the making of Fast and Furious II...

Santa's ride does well in snow and ice - RX-8s only with really good weather tires - however, since most of the earth is arid RX-8s might be a better choice

Reindeer can't crap when going that fast their butt cheeks are clenched too tight. I'd be surprised if they could let out a squeaker.

Sounds like Santa has some special cooling capability that would benefit a rotary.

Santas sleigh cost in gas: 2000 lbs of reindeer snacks = $500

Santas gas cost in rx8: $892,348,724,832,039,209,024,232,348,492,393,759.8 9

Watching santa forget to warm up the 8 before turning it off before starting his journey and subsequently flooding it and ruining christmas : Priceless

It's easier to find gas stations than feed stores carrying deer chow

Santa has a single bulb red fog light, Rx-8s have fogs, low beams and high beams - I'll take the 8 on a foggy Christmas Eve

Ok, Santa will NEVER DRIVE an 8!

He won't fit...

Also, he'll have trouble explaining "Wankel" to the kids....
