EDIT: I looked up the 2005 Forbes most expensive cars. The most expensive car on the list was not even 650,000 dollars. The Carrera GT, as it always has been, costs 440,000 dollars. I have to wonder who would do business with an investment banker who pays 300,000 dollars more than a car is worth.
hey, base price is 450g. Fully loaded and sticker markup is 700g for the rich and famous. :

CGT has no options and I never heard of a single CGT selling for 700,000.

i think its funny people keep bringing up all the cars they drove. as if that means your a great driver......

I am a valet in the summer, I have driven everything from ferrari, lambo, jag, bmw, merc, ford, chevy, pontiac, masarati, ect, ect ,ect...made in the last 5 years. Most of them I drive about 3 blocks down the street and park, as fast as I can, some of the better ones I take on a fast 'joy ride' about 2 mile round trip (dont ever valet your car...anywhere...lol)....does that mean im a great driver and ill never get into a crash? Hell No, anyone can crash at any time, and Im not talking about when YOUR doing everything right and someone hit you...Im saying accidents YOU could have avoided.

Im no ace driver...im almost 22, full time job, part time student, I work very hard for my car. Its my hobby, my passion. I think that helps make me a little more aware than I would be if I was driving some POS.

Everyone can improve their driving skills....EVERYONE! Your never the best you can be, and thinking about how good you are can lead to over confidence and crashes...sometimes it ends up just being a close call, other times it ends up in someones death.

If you really do want to be a good driver, never stop learning, do track events, autox, whatever you can where you can get up to the limit and cross it in a safe place.

Its not my place to pick cars for others, or recomend cars.......there is no safe care for a first time driver.....they are going to do stupid stuff, i know cause I did, everyone does....if they say they didnt, they are lying. Your parents were your age once, I just wonder if they remember how they were when they started driving?

Congrats to you, be safe, and grow a 3rd eye and a 6th sense, it will save your life one day.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. I just think her freind talks a lot of ****. And that she needs to learn that nobody is impressed by her constant bragging about her rich freind. Nor do the opinoins of the rich and spoiled carry any more weight than anyone elses. Nor does any sane person actually believe the 8 handles better than the CGT

P.S Technically, it's a Spider. Spyder hasn't been used by Ferrari since the GTB.

If you despise me so much, then why don't you just ignore me?

As to your comments, I never implied anyone's opinions mattered more than another's. I don't care what you think if I comment on a friend of mine having certain vehicles or whatnot or what their opinion of them is. I didn't hear you screaming at other people for saying they drove certain other expensive cars. As far as your price complaining, he bought the car in Italy so I am fairly certain their pricing ran differently than ours, plus the conversion rate at the time would equate for a potential price discrepancy, assuming there was one. As I recall, the USD at that time was approximately 1.32 for every ED.

P.S. If your name is "Blues Eyes" how come your picture has green eyes?

I don't despise you. I just noticed you like to talk about your rich freinds, and that you seem to hold their opinions in high regard becasue of their wealth.

As for my avatar, the real question is, why do I have brown eyes in real life!

It is funny to see that i guess almost no teenager has bought their RX8 by themselves??? I'm 19 and just bought an RX8 for a christmas present to myself.... Traded my M3 Convertible for it (E36 and paid for myself). I wanted a car that I could take to drift events and the RX8 was reasonably qualified. I had a mustang I drifted and boy is the RX8 easier to drift, besides the lack of power the mass centralization is great. Anyways, everyone should take their RX8 atleast once to the track to hone their skills at the wheel, one track day will improve your skills a lot.

Haven't read any other posts in this thread. Dont' get the 8. Here's why - the 8 does not telegraph when it's about to lose traction and spin out. It's IMMEDIATE! I've been driving for over 30 years (this is my third RX) and you better know what you're doing when you hit a curve hot or you're gone - like that. You say you've been driving since you were 12 but that still might not prepare you for how suddenly the rear end can spring loose on an 8.

Just my opinion.

My parents bought an ACcord that was supposed to be mine but I more or less turned it down feeling that it wouldn't be "my" car. The overriding fact that it could have been a WRX might have been a factor in that. Anyway, now I drive a 240SX that I got through a trade for a Corolla GTS that I picked up for fifty bucks and a latte and spent $600 on to put into sellable condition.

I don't think that everyone your age and under lacks the responsiblity for something liek an RX8. A friend of mine got a 350Z when he was 16, another one at 17. I know someone who got an E46 M3 and learned how to drive stick on it. None of them are dead and all of them haven't crashed yet. I don't think that every teen is irresponsible, although some of them are extremely so.

If I had a kid and I could afford it, I'd buy him a nice car with little or no financial obligation from him or her. After he or she drives a crappy car around so he can appreciate the new one.

Well.......not sure what to really say about this thread....I know it's gonna come across a bit rough. Ah, to be 16 or 17 and be handed a $30,000 car?!? What a 'gift'. The parents should be really proud that they are passing they're 'wealth' down to they're kids, eh? What kind of message does that send? But....in defense of those that will 'flame' me and say they are paying for it themselves.........good for you. If you can somehow be buying this yourself you should be commended. But.....how in the world are you paying for the insurance and gas let alone the car payments while going to high school? Hard for me to imagine this can be happening. I think it says alot about building responsibility and the learning the value of things. Then.....there is the immaturity factor......see this thread to see what I mean:

If they are responsible then fine - but most teenagers are not and a car of this caliber may not be a good idea. They should start out with a more practical car like a Civic.

I have seen 50 year old idiots and 15 year old idiots, more of them have been 15 than 50. Personally, I think the vast majority of teenagers do not have the maturity and judgement to own a car like the rx8. There is something to be said for having a little more life experience and better understanding of the responsiblility a driver has for others. There is also something to be said for having something to aspire to rather than having it handed to you at an early age. I am aware that some teenagers have purchased their car at their own expense and I applaud that initiative. However, if they invested that money and waited awhile, they could get the rx8 and have some cash as well instead of living to pay for the car.
