Unhappy RX-8 Stolen

Yesterday I got home from work to find my garage door all F'd up, after a minute of like WTF I saw tire marks and realized my car was gone!!!! My garage was a total mess. The idiot apparently did not know how to drive a clutch and ramed into my garage door (or he doesn't know how to open a garage door) and then likiely after that, ramped forward into the wall and smashed the wall.

My car is a black RX-8 with spoiler, sliver tinted windows, clear side markers, and RX-8 rotory emblem center wheel caps - everything else is stock. The plates are speciality with a star shape colored with TX colors and the phase "and justice for all" on the bottom.

The car was stolen in Austin, TX near Lakeway. Witnesses say the thief looked to be a young hispanic looking individual.

Please call the police if you see this car around.

sorry , the market for rx8 parts is very small, so chances that a real car thieves stole your car to get chopped up is pretty small. more likely its a joy ride scenario and you stand a decent chance at getting it back after its ditched somewhere. good luck

Majorly sucks! They broke into my house through a side window, rampsacked my house, stole some high dolor items and found the car keys. It seems the car was what they wanted.

Sorry - that sucks profusely. Did you leave the key in the garage? No way he started that car without it. If he did that is one smart non stick driving hispanic.

If a cop gets eyes on a pristine 8 with dent/stratches on it driven by a shady looking person he will more than likely check it out. I'm thinking the guy will ditch it somewhere and trash the interior just for the hell of it.

Sounds like a joy rider then...Probably used the car to get out of the area fast, take it for a spin and then will prolly ditch it later knowing that once its called in it's gonna be spotted pretty quick.

That blows! My place just got broken into 2 months ago, so I know how you feel. WTF is going on with Austin?!?!

I'll keep an eye out for it, as I don't see many RX-8s here.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

Damn that royally sucks. When they find him, I hope they cut off his nut sacks and make him eat them.

I hate it when **** like this happens. People need to learn to respect other people's property.

Pretty cazy. That's a major crime. If he gets caught hard time if a definite possibility, a felony for sure.

I don't even know if I want it anymore, I'm sure it is already damaged, and if they ever find it I doubt it will be in any good shape.

Thanks for your help

Yea sounds like punkass kids or meth-necks...career peeps if they went as far as bringing supplies for the dog...did you leave your doors/windows unlocked? any forced entry? Judging by where you live I would imagine that you probably felt safe and routinely did not lockup. The only other thing I would think of is...why your house? What did they find attractive about it? Did you recently have any parties? Bring anyone who was a stranger in? Etc?

Damn that sucks !

What I would do is if I do see them, unarm, I will just take a bat, walk up, and beat the **** out of them before I call cops.

Well they used my dog treats. It's possible my window was unlocked I'm not real sure but it wasn't broken so probably. It definitely seems like a safe neighbor hood but it is a mixed neighborhood with older trailers and stuff around and then lots of new houses going in. I'm guessing they've seen my car before.

Other than that no strangers in my home recently and no other suspects

Yeah the cops were going to take my baseball bat to see if they could find prints (if was moved) but I said I'd just keep it. They dusted for prints lots of other places

read thisI hate to hear that you have lost your car. Chief it's been less than 24 hours and I'd be willing to bet that car is not in the possession of the thief any longer...and with the thousands of cars stolen, if the police find it, it will be pure luck. My advise....Chek with your insurance company and see if they would put a reward of say a grand....for information leading to the recovery of the car. .....I can imagine they might , considering the alternate in money they would have to put out.....Then call every mall large strip mall, and large chain in a 50 miles radius.... (walmart and the like), and talk to their security people and tell them whats happened, give them your tag number and contact information, and fax them a copy of hte police report.... The quicker you act the better chance your car will be recovered otherwise they will fish it out of a river somewhere in a year or two. Unforunately thats the reality of the situation......Stolen cars are like runaway kids......the police just have too many to concentrate on one. When my son ran away...I didnt know he'd ran away and I reported him as a missing person. It took me networking with his friends to get the tag number of the car he was in, and 3 days and I found him myself. GOOD LUCK! and keep us posted.
