Here in the San Diego area, I see maybe one a week. or less I've seen the same one (Platinum) in mira mesa like 3-4 times. All others, I've seen only once each. You'd think in a large metro area like this it would be a daily sighting...

RX-8’s are NOT moving here in Monterey, CA.
Those on dealer lots have been sitting so long the batteries are dead
and the discs on the brakes are coated with 100% rust.
Since 8’s came out,I have seen only two driving in the area.
This area (Carmel, Monterey, Pebble Beach) has probably one of the high percentage of expensive cars in the U.S. A Mercedes is considered low life. Seen plenty of Porsche, Mecedes-Benz, Lamborghini, BMW, Jaguar, Ferrari, Vets, even Z’s
8’s just mine. Getting lonely

Woah, talk about bringing back a dead thread, ha. I see a few every now and again, but I like knowing it's a somewhat-rare car. I like having a rare car. It's not as rare as my cts-v but I still don't see very many around.

True, but to the casual observer, the cts-v just looks like another boxy Cadillac. When you see an 8 in a town or city where they're rare, onlookers are like "wtf is that thing?"

I usually see an 8 parked or driving somewhere in this city at least every other day...but the last time I saw a nordic green down here was probably around a year ago.

I've seen more GT-R's and Supras than RX7s and RX8s combined in NYC.

Since I bought mine new in '04 I was lucky to see 1 or 2 per month but this year I'm starting to see a lot more. Maybe it's because you can pick up a used one dirt cheap. However, I have not seen a series II ('09+) on the road yet. Most dealers around here don't even have any '10s in stock and if they do, it's usually just 1.

NY Spotted a white one passing a white 350z

I was driving an Ambulance when I saw a very nice 8 driving on LIE o n Queens, NY. Later on that day I spotted a similar one parked in front of a Hospital. The one that was parked had emergency lights. It must be a firefighter driver. Still haven seen a galaxy gray like mines though, I hope I never do. Well I wouldn't mind one with an Italian mami in it. Wink wink.

Its funny because being part of this community you get this "family" feel to owning a RX8. I sometimes forget that not everyone is really "in the know" on this "clique" that we have going on. I actually saw a nice black S1 on the highway yesterday, pulled up near it and it was a girl driving it. I gave her a thumbs up (and probably a really strange smile since im still in the "oo! another rx on the road). Needless to say she probably thought I was weird and went about her business and drove off.

I've got a VR RX8 in Westerville. Yesterday, I stopped at the autocross on OSU campus. Out of about 40 cars competing, there were 2 RX8 (both VR), and in the observation area there was mine and a Titanium Gray one.

I've seen two modded 8's around here. The rest are older people who wont even wave back at ya.

Like stated above, ive also seen more $90k+ cars in NYC then ive seen RX7's or 8's. Although i have seen a few 8's in my neighborhood in the Bronx lately.

Although... if i see one more ****** Acura TL ima kill myself. I see about 8 a day over here... all different ones. I hate that car.

I work at a hospital and I never see them. Except when I come home this cute college student that lives on the floor above me. She bought the same one I have after she rode in mine a couple times. btw a back bench seat would be kinda sweet, but anyways. I never really see them. Tons and tons of bmw's and mercedes. More hondas and mini vans than I ever wanted to see in a life time, and a couple of mustangs once in a while. We have 60 parking lots, and 16,000 employees and not one of them drives an 8. I guess really its nice to not be in the flow of chaos.

here in Buffalo New York....

I can drive around for hours and never see an RX-8. I have never seen a phantom blue mica like mine around here. The rarity of these cars in this area definitely adds to the head turning factor!!!
