RX-8 DVD in mail today

I got an RX-8 product update DVD in the mail today. Not to bad. It’s 11 minutes long and has info on the Rotary engine, how to deflood the engine, what fuel to use and tire pressure. All and all not to bad.

Do you have a DVD burner. I would love to see it. I don't own and RX-8, but would love to drool over the DVD!

I got it today too. Good info (stuff we already know ) but who in god's name is that dorky guy playing the "owner" of the car. I know none of us real RX-8 owners are that lame. I was LMAO watching.....it's worth it for that alone.

Is this a new wave of cd distribution? Seems these were sent a year ago. Most recipients were those that had flooded. Most owners never received these.

Ever heard of the Owner's Manual? Or the sticker on the drivers side door?

I also, would love to hear more from this. Having purchased my RX-8 used, I'm sure that I will never be on Mazda's address list. It would be great if some one could summarize the info or somehow make some of it available.

Don't despair. I've had my 8 over a year, and just received the DVD in the mail yesterday, too.

Got mine yesterday too. Great video. I was laughing during the oil checking section when they were using the arrows to point out where the oil line was because you couldn't see a thing.

The only thing I got from the video was that they actually do not recommend synthetic oil due to lack of long term statistical data that shows anything for or against its use. Other than that, nothing new. Not really exciting. Everything is already in the manual.

I got to thinking the DVD would have been nice if it had a documentary or something on the rotary engine. Maybe how they assemble it, test it.

Just got mine and I have never flooded my engine. I do know that you should be registered with Mazda for warranty information to get the video. Otherwise, they don't know you.

Learned how to deflood the engine in the video. Also, my dealership recommends that I use 5W30 but the video recommends 5W20. The higher weight may be better in the summer and the lower weight in the winter and that is probably the dealerships changes it over in winter.

Yes, the driver is dorky but it basically reminds me of myself (geek owner... :D )

I got mine in the mail yesterday as well. Unless they're just blanket sending them to every RX-8 owner the only thing that happened recently that may have caused it was that I had the recall done just over two weeks ago. Perhaps they are using that to ensure that it goes to the current owners?
