Talking RX-8 Differential, Compatible with 2006+ MX-5?

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since i've posted here (Sorry!). I have a question for you guys! I go to an automotive school and i got curious one day. I went on 'All-Data' (its an online data-base for **** tons of cars!) and i searched for the Differential for both the MX-5 and RX-8. I pulled up the 'Parts Explosion' (basically a detailed drawing of parts) and the two Differentials looked IDENTICAL! Now this either means, All-Data is lazy and recycles pictures, or there is a possibility that your 4.77 Differential can take the place of my 4.10 Differential (giving a nice boost in acceleration).

On the Miata Forum i was told that this will also increase my cruising RPM, so instead of 2,500 at 70MPH, i'll be 10-15% higher. Honestly... DUH!!! but who cares!? A drop in 1-2 MPG will be worth the extra accerlation!

They also said that my top speed would be lower.... DUH!!! but who cares? My car is limited to under 120MPH anyways! Besides, i don't find myself at that speed too often!

So i was hoping, that the fine gentlemen at RX8Club.com could possibly help me with this question!!!

Thank you so much in advance! Have a nice day!

P.S. - If anyone has a differential just lying around, i'd love to PERSONALLY see if this works or not!

Flame me if you will, but I'd like to know the "drift potential" of these. Meaning, I wonder how much this helps put power to the ground with the added gearing. More hp/tq to the ground earlier. Wonder if the gearing would be noticeable. Well ****, looks like I'll have to get one come spring time. Mines whining anyway...

yeah! sorry about that! i meant to say 4.44!

Although a 4.77 would be niiiice! but i don't think it'd be easy to find a diff from a 2009 RX-8 anytime soon!
