Maybe this has been posted before and I just haven't seen it... but FYI, the RX-8 did 4 and 5 stars in the NHTSA crash tests. Not bad. :D

Now, Mazda just needs to inmpove the 3 overall (the MP5 had better results) and get better side results for the 6 ...

 

USA TODAY (6/8/2004 issue) has a big spread on the RX8 doing better thanb others tested in the roll over test. Also CNN.Com.

Good..its glad to see that. It seems like sports cars today get a bad rap about crash tests.....congrats to te Mazda engineers!

Thanks for the update Omicron- I've been waiting a while to see the results after they airbag harness retest. Mazda really did a helluva job with the RX-8!

 

I wonder if they'll part out the one that they wrecked???

 

I'm waiting to see how the Insurance Institute rates the RX-8. The NHTSA is always easier to pass as far as front end crashes. Who runs into a wall straight on anyway? But good to see that the side impact test is a four star.
