I'm with you Kev, I'm confused as to what they are talking about lol
Though Dom's comment about cheap paint is correct. Our paint is so soft/weak/thin take your pick.. the front of my bblack looks like my car snorts coke while I'm at work.

Kev, thought it was just me. The paint on Mazda's have always been soft. My 99 Miata's paint is VERY soft also. Nothing changed for the 8. Oh well, a peppered front just backs up my wish to get the MS front nose

PS I plan on painting my rotor hats a black (like I did on my Miata) and be done with the rust issue.

Kev, u ever think of painting your calipers? We should have a caliper painting day over my house sometime.

Calipers and rotars I want painted! hehe.. just unsure if I want the calipers glossy black or painted classic red.

Come next year gonna see about um "befriending" the local paintshop that is litteraly down my street to see how much it would be to repaint the entire front of my car. I just realized last week I have a odd paint chip on circle for my gas lid, thankfully its just down to the primer and not to the metal, so yeah our paint is weak.

To the Op dont be calling your dealer they'll be clueless to this. If ya want ask one of the Moderators like RotaryGod or Zoom44 they know to much about this car, random/odd question like this is right up their alley.
