Hi everyone, Just got a used 04 Rx8 GT and just registered for this site. My 8 idles roughly in neutral, and really roughly with the AC on. Is this normal for a rotary engine? At 1k rpm it idles fine but it tends to drop into 700 rpm and begins to shake the stick shift pretty badly esp with AC. thanks, and sorry if this is been asked many time.

 

Search under motor mounts, compression and idle

The rotary is known for an inconsistent idle... so these issues vary by degree

 

One thing I will note here is the rough idle can also be caused by a failing CAT which was the biggest contributer to my own rough idle..
