Mine wasn't totaled but I was out of an 8 for a month and a half. No pics, though so my story will have to suffice.
I was leaving school, at around 830 pm. Double left turn, it was red as I approached but turned green while I was still moving, at the time I was in the right lane when it switched I changed to the left cause there was an Escort in the right lane stopped. As I start to make the turn I'm dead even with the Escort, we turn onto the street and she just kept turning, never straightened out and smashed the whole passenger side of the 8. She gets out and is crying, cops show up and say it's my fault and I smell like weed. I hadn't smoked in two days and haven't ever smoked anything in my car ever. So I got taken to jail, car impounded and a huge fine. Insurance company said the cops were wrong to say it was my fault and reversed their decision. And I got paid and fixed my car up. Still had to deal with the weed ticket but I still got my 8.

Don't they need actual evidence to charge you for a weed ticket? Hell, you could have just put on hemp lotion and that would cause the smell. Or had hemp incense burning so the smoke is in your clothing.
On a side note no they don't, they can give a 'possession by consumption' if they think your high, and that's all up to the discretion of the officer.
Arson?
I can't see any impact damage, except for the trunk bottom edge folded out, which doesn't makes sense. Ah, fuel line. sucks
